T. Eidson, Norris Graham, Wm. H. Kaker, and R. F. Shelton; Secretary Hugh Millican. AJ!inutes of the meeting of December 2, 1958, were read and approved. The following Ordinance was adopted on a motion by Alderman Kaker and a second by Alderman Dalton; �IV ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY CONTIGOUS AND ADJACENT 'Ib THE CITY OF GRAPE VINE, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOIvIE A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT THE INHABITANTS SH�LL BE ENTITLED 'PO ALL THE PRIVILEGES AND RIGHTS OF OTHER CITI2ENS OF SAID CITY AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SUCH CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXASr� FUTHER PROVIDING THAT THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY BE AMENDED AND CORRECTED 'PO INCLUDE SUCH TERRI'PORY; AND PROVI DING FOR AN EFFECTI VE DATE. Said ordinance annexing the area ,just north of Starnes Addition owned by H. L. Higgins, et. al . , was numbered 59-1 and filed in the Ordinance Book. The following ordinance was adopted on a motion by Alderman Eidson and a second by Alderman Shelton: � AN ORDINANCE DEFINING CERTAIN NUI SA.NCES AND PROHI BI TING SUCH NUI SANCES; PROVI DING FGR THE ABATEMENT OF NUISANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY AND A S EVER.AB I L I TY CLAU S E. � The above ordinance was numbered 59-2 and filed 'in the Ordinance Book; said ordinance prevents the manufacture , storage, sale, and firing of fireworks within the City Limits. The following bids were received for the supplying of liquid chlorine for the year of 1959: - Diamond Alkali Co. In quanities of 3,600 Pounds or over �p13.50/cwt. In quanities of less than 3,600 pmunds 18.50/cwt. Thompson-Hayward Chemical Co. No minimum requirement 13•50�cwt. Alderman Dalton moved that the contract be awarded to Thompson Hayward Chemical Company; Motion seconded by Alderman Kaker and passed. , Motion by Alderman Eidson and second by Alderman Shelton that no payment be made to W. E. Guest for refund due on Bellaire Contract until the question of the revision of the contract is settled; motion passed. �" The Council instructed that letter be written to A. L. Smith statin� that the delinquent taxes must be paid on his property within five days or the Tax Department will proceed urith the filing of a tax suit for collection. , Upon the recommendation of the Mayor, it was agreed to accept the payment of $�112.00 from R. L . Turner as payment for all back taxes, rents, and water services due the City; said payment of �E112.00 is to include the pans and tables retained by Mr. Turner as - salvage from the Canning plant. ;- a.- � It was aareed by the Council that a letter signed by the Mayor be sent each builder or contraetor in which is stated that a building permit is required to be obtained prior to construction Ior repairs are to be made and to include an application for � such permit with instructions as to how to complete it. � Alderman Kaker moved that Freese & Nichols be instructed to i proceed with the drawing of the plans and specifications for re-building the lift station in the Hilltop Addition and the accompany�ng force feed line and out-fall line. Motion was seconded by Alderman Dalton and passed. A�so instructions were given to inspect and make recommendations pertaining th extending sewer service along N. Dove Road. � N:otion by Alderman Eidson and second by Alderman Shelton that a letter by the Mayou be written commending John Baze for his work as Police Chief for the City; motion passed.
