Pegular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grapevine was
held on May 19 , 1�59, with the following members present : l�nayor
Tip Johnson; Al�ermen ��1i11iam H. Kaker , Doil Dalton, Norris L.
�, Graham, and Al Harwell . Alderman Kaker acted as City Secretary

W.C. Haws app eared to inform the Council that he could not int2r
, into the proposed concession agreement as set forth in a letter
from the Corps of Enaineers. A-7r. Haws stated that he could pay ��

�7r. Robert L. Nichols of Freese and Nichols Engineers was present
to report on the progress�negotiations toward securing additional
water rights in Grapevine Lake. Nr . Nichols recommznded that the
City leave their application in for use of navaclation water, but
not to persue it further at this time. H2 also recommended that the
� City be�in negotiations with the City of Dallas for the purchase
I of raw water to come from Grapevine Lake. P,.�otion to neqotiate i
vaith the City of Dallas for raw water, and authorize Freese and
Nichols to proceede to draw plans for proposed water plant was �
made by Alderman Kaker and seconded by Alderman Dalton.
A petition to mov� th� pool hall was discussed. The Council voted
three to one to � have the pool hall move to a new location by
6-1-59, and is to be on probation at all times. The pool hall and
st�rrounding area is to be vacated at 11 :00 P.PJi. n,9onday through
Saturday. Pool Hall is to be closed on Sunday.
A�otion was made by Alderman Kaker and seconded by �lderman Graham
that the following appointmznts made by Mayor Johnson be accepted.
Plannina and Zonina Commission:
a. Jesse I . Williamson, for the term to expire 1-?1-60
b. Bi�. l Power�, for the term to expire 1-31-62
c . John P. Starr, Jr. , for the term to expire 1-31-62
Zoning Board of .4djustments: Term to expire with Mayor�.

Nlotion was made by Alderman Dalton and seconded by �lderman Harwell
that the City accept the Bid of the r,�a�nolia Petroleum Company
- to supply ga so 1 i ne to the Ci ty f rom June f i r st 195g through PJ!ay

j IU[otion was made by Alderman Graham and seconded by �lderman
Dalton to accept the bid of the Francis Equipment Company on ,I
a Massey Ferguson tractor with attached mower. Tractor to be ,
equiyped with delux seat. �
R.?otion was made by Alderman Dalton and seconded by Alderman '
Kaker authorizing a radio unit to be installed in the pickup
truck belonging to Mayor Johnson. Cost not to exceede 600.00
- Cost shall ' be distributed as follows:

for t�"ayor Johnson to write and express thanks and offer all
cooperation of the City of Grapevine to Sheriff Ulright in placing
a mobile unit and two men in the Grapevine area.
D.�otion was made by ulderman Shelton and seconded by I�.lderman
Kaker that the salary of the Chief of Police Hunter be increased
to'�?7�.00 p�r month, effectiv�. 5-15-59.
