Alderman Graham motioned � r�at the City purchase two new police � {'
cars from r�ia�;gard hqotors at the low bid price of $���0.00 and
that the following resolution authorizin� a conditional sal�s I
contract be passed.

; WHEREAS: tt�e population and tracfic in the City of Crapevine has
increased consi�ieraLle , and , thds increasin� the amount of
traffic violations and the need of more efficient law enforce-
ment within the City limits of said City, and,
WHFREAS, the e=�isting two police cars are worn and in bad nepair ,.
,,� thtis causing excessively high operation costs, and,
WHEREAS,, to properly pa �rol tne City of Urapevine and to best
benetit the Citizens of Grapevine in the most e�ficient and
��COnor�ical �Nay, it has �ee deemed necessary to purchas� two
new police cars, and,
� WHEREAS, the funds for current expenditures of the Lity of
Grapevine are not sufficient to purcha� said police cars �vith-
out arranging for the co�,t to be on a deferred plan, �

SECTION 1. Authorization is hereby given for the acceptance
of two 1959 Ford Automorile s f rom Mag�ard R�1otors at the tot.al .cost
of $2300. J0.
SECTIUN 2. Authorization is hereby given for the payment
of the cars as follows; ,
A. Execution and delivery to Tom h�ag�ard �`'iotors of Grapevine ,
Texas, a conditional sa.les contact in the total amou,it of �2300.00
,�ea�ing �_nterest R�tte of 6% per annum and payaLle as �1150.U0 on
January 2, 1961, plus 6% of ori'ginal princi�le and $1150.00 payable
on January 2, 1962, plus 6°lo interest on balance . Passed and apt�rove this
Julj� 31 , 1959.
Alc?erman Kaker motioned that the �-ity purchase a radar unit not to
exceed $1000.00 and that the following resolution authorizing a condi-
tional sales contract be passed. Motion seconded by Alderman Graham
and pas::-ed by all members voting aye.

LVHL'REAS, the Police Department of the City of Grapevine has made request '
for radar unit and si�ch reGuest has been �deemed justifiable in that '
this unit is necessary in t�roperly contr�lling speeding tratfic on R

1. Authorization hereby ^iven to purchase one new Radar Unit not to exceed ',
$1000.00.
� 2. The �,iayor and `�ity Secretary are hereby authori���� to �xecute a not�
� and other necessary papers to borrow $1000.Or; fro� the First �ational
Bank of Grapevine , Texas, payable on Januar}7 2, 1960 plus accured
interest at the r�t� oi 6% per annum. Said $1000.00 is to be used ,
on the Purchase of the .ladar Unit. '

Alderman �#arwell moved that the salary of Izola Jordan be increased I
5�25.00 per month. hiotion seconded by Alderman llalton and passed by all ''
members voting aye.
Alderman �aker moved that hlayor Johnson have authority to invest funds
from the band improvement funds in U. S. Treasury bills as he thinks will
best benefit the City of Grapevine. r1otion seconded by Alderman Harwell
ar.d passed by all members �oting aye.

Alderman Kaker noved that the City purchase road gravel from what ever '�
spurce would be rlore ecomical to the City. � otion seconded by Alderman
Ualton and �ass d by a vote of aye by all memt�ers. '�
