The City Council met in regular session
September 14, 1959 , with the following members present. �
�
Tip Johnson, Mayor and Aldermen Harold Kaker, R. F. S elton, }
�Dal�nd Harwell , and Ci y Secretary R. F. Rogers. � �

The minutes of last meeting were read and approved. !
( 1) Southwestern States Telephone representative met with
Council to discuss extension of contract time limit. Alderman
Dalton voted to delay action and give the Lion� s Club time
to make a house survey. Motion seconded by Alderman Shelton.
All voted yes.
(2) The City Fire Chief inet with Council and made several
recommendations relatiwe to improving the existing conditions
around fire plugs. He made suggestion the Water Department
keep fire pluqs in workable order, motion made by Alderman
Shelton - seconded 'by .Alderman Dalton to adopt recommendation-
all voted yes.
( 3) Alderman Kaker made motion that Water Super3ntendent �
James Hancock transfeT his office as Water Superintendent �
back to the location of the Water Works - seconded by Alderman
Shelton - all voted yes.
(�.) Mr. Si2emore living at 1012 W. N. W. Highway in 2-apartment �
house served by only one meter, has been paying two minimums;
he asked f or a refund of one minimum water and one minimum ;,
sewage. He claims he does not have the apartment above his I
leased. The council voted no change in policy on ordinance
affecting this situation.
(5) Motion made by Alderman Harold Kaker-seconded by Alder-
man 5helton that the following salaries go into effect as of
October 1 , 1959:
Ray Hunter, �Chief of Police raised to ��.00.00�mo.
John Scott and B. L. Richardson r ised to �325.00�mo ea.
Mrs. Laura Thomas be raised to $�0.00/mo. �
All voted yes.
(6) Motion made by Alderman 5helton-seconded by Alderman
Kaker that the City accept the bid of �5,032.00 made by
Lyon Construction Company, Inc. of Fort Worth, for the
installation of 30 inch corrugated galvanized steel casing
' under State Highway No. 114 and State Higha►ay 121 . Also
the installation of a six inch cast iron pipe water line under �
; the access road serving Grapevine Lake. The contract time of
� twenty-days to begin seven days after date contract let (9-14-59) .
All Voted yes. j

; (7) Motion made by Alderman Kaker - seconded by Alderman ,
i Shelton that the 100 block of West Worth Street e zoned '
' for two hour maximum parking limit. �� U �.a.�

It was discussed and suggested that City Secretary Rogers
� and Superintendent of Water Department , Hancock inspect
need of street light at 112 N. Scribner Street.
