; The City C4unc# 1 met in regular session Octc�ber 20, 3959, with
' the foilowing members present. IViayor Tip Johnsan, Alderman Dalton,
' Harwell , Rodney Shelton. Also meeting rvith the above members was
Superintendent of the Water Department, James Hancaek and R. F.
• Ragers, �ity 'Secretary. Aldermen Graham and Kayker were absent.
( 1) Hugh Millican met with City Council representing some property �'�
owners near new grade school . �ub,ject: Straightenfng of R�dge Road, � �
and dedicatian of same. See ordina�ces adopted #59-9. Motion made �} ,(�
to make such order by A2derman Da2ton, seconded by Alderman Shelton. ��1
All vated yes. �'
{2} Motion made by Ald�rman Da2ton, secanded by Shelton that City ;
accept the offer by R. L. Turner of .�67. 12 as final payment of �
cte2inquent t�axes, also accepting his Offer of �,�4.Q0 �or balance !
due on purchased equipment f rom city. All voted yes.r ;
, ( 3} Motion made by Alderman Shelton, seconded by Dalton to defer ;
acti4n on ailowing Mr. Watk3�ns and Mrs. Ada GaLlagher to fence in j
lf2 af easements back of their respective properties. Ai2 voted yes. �

af condition. In�tructed water superintendent Hancock to raise
the one out near new elementary school .
�S} Further discussion made t�n proposed Post Office site under I
optian. Decided to go on record as favoring the #2 site. Motion �
to adopt this by Aldertrian Harwell , secanded by Dalton, all voted yes. �
(6) Discusse�d with Bob Nichols, City Engineer� firm, sub,ject lines
filtration p2ant, blue prints,and made some recammen8atic�ns on type of scsme �
pipe and connections, letter relative to same t�o follaw in few days. ;

(7} Alderman Doyle made motion, seco nded by Harwell , that a street �
light be insta2led in the 100 block of North Scribner. Al1 vated yes.
( 8} Mot3.an made by Alderman Harwell and seconded by A2derman Shelton I
that the Mayor and Gity Secretary sign the water agreernent with Dallas 1
as rECOmmended by City Attorney. A22 voted yes, '

(�} On recommendatfon of City Secretary R. F. Rogers that the
following improvements to City office be made. Put"employees anly'�
�, sign on door to office, and glass windaw panel� be installed, this
was also recammended by the Mayar. Alderman Harwel2 made motion,

seconded by Alderman Shelton. All voted yes.

Water Superintendent James Hancock brought up for '
d3scussion, the recent raise of pay given some of the City
Employees from which he did not benefit, or receive pay
increase. The smb�ject was discussed by all Aldermen and �
the Mayor. Mr. Hancock took the position that his qualifications '
and the� �job being done by him should entitle him to a raise i
comparable to one given the Chief of Police. He further insisted ';
that he be raised to �400.00 per month, retroactive, to October '
lst, 1959• Alderman Dalton made motion t� grant the raise request. �
As the motion received no second , motion failed.
Discussed work to be done in and around lake - road repairs, etc.
Agreed to take action at on�-� Suggested City Secretary contact
Concessionaires on Quarterly Commission payments due City, and
agreed to take bids immediately on contract basis. ;
