Regular meeting of the City Counci�l of the City of Grapevine was �
held on M.arch I.�, 1958, with the following members present: Mayor '
i Joe D. Clark; Aldermen D.'E. Dalton, R. T. Eidson, Norri s Graham, ,

Minutes of the meetings of February L�. and February 18, 1958 were '
read and approved. ',

Request was made by the School Board that water and sewer lines (M58-18) ,
be extended to the property west of town to be used for school '
purposes. Estimated costs for the facilities, sewer line and a '�
6" water line from Ball Street:
Sewer Line � 2,710 .00
Water Line 2,861�..00 $5,574•00 j
Alderman 5helton moved that the City extend said lines .with the �
cost of the lines be shared as � 1 ,909 .00 by the City and $3,665.00 �
by the School District and that the City and School be repaid for ;
their investment as others tie on to these �acilities in a manner ;
to be worked out between the involved parties at a later date. �
I�Rotion seconded by Alderman �idson and passed by vote. �

P,esolution No. R58-3 (Copy of whd�ch follows) was indtroduced and (R58-?)
adopted on a motion by Alderman Kaker and second by Alderman
Eidson. Said resolution authorizes sale of canning plant lot
to Robert Brown for � 2,075.00.
Motion was made by Alderman Shelton that a resolution or ordinance (ri458-I�)
be drawn and presented which would place a 30 m.p.h. zone on I
' State Highway No. 11l.� from a point ,just east of the �Yt to N. �
� Dove Road. Motion was seconded by Alderman Eidson and pa'ssed.
Approval was given for plans and specifications presented by (M58-2Q
Silver Lake,Enterprises, Inc. , for the err2ction of a fishing
barge to be placed in Grapevine Lake. Said approval was given �
sub�ject to final approval by the Corps of Engineers.
Approval was given that the City carry deductable collision (IvT58-21)
� insurance on the new International Fire Truck with premium not
to exceed $ 100 .00 . !
Petition was read asking for improvements to Austin Street from (M58-22) ;
Franklin Street south. Instructions were given that an answer
be sent stating that the City had no money or equipment to '
pave the street as requested but also stating that as improve- i
ments are made in streets in general , that this section will �
receive consideration. '�
Alderman Kaker moved that consideration of a livestock ordinance (M58-23)
be tabled until later date; motion was seconded by Alderman
�helton and passed.
Alderman Eidson moved that a bill for �32.00 to Joe Box for 1�2 •
of the expenses of the Mayor and two others in attending a
Highway meeting in Austin be approved for payment; motion was
seconded by Alderman Graham and passed. �

Following bids were received for 500 � of 22" fire hose : (M58-25)
B. F. Goodrich Co. � 500 .00 less 2�
Sure Fire Equipment Co. 647.50 less 2�
Arlington Fire Extinguisher Co. 650.00
rire Extinguisher Service Co.' 715.00
Alderman Eidson made the recomendation that the hos2 be purchased
from Sure Equipment Co. as it being the best hose as indicated
by the samples supplied with the bids. Council awarded the bid
contract as recomended upon a motion by Alderman Eidson and a
second by Alderman Kaker.
Public meetino to discuss possible increase in water and (�Z58-26)
sewer rates was called for Friday, March l�th, at the school .
It was shown that to finance the cost of a filter plant and
other necessary water 8 sewer improvements, a rate of � 5.50
minimum plus �0 .70 per 1 ,000 for excess water will be needed.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFER� OF TITLE
OF CITY OWNED LOT AT INTERSECTION OF �UEST
TE?CAS STREET AND BARTON STREET.
�NHEREAS, The City of Grapevine owns a Lot at the intersection
of West Texas ans Barton Streets described as:
The East 60 feet of Lot 26 and the East 60 feet of the
South part of Lot 27, Blocl� �T , City of Grapevine,
Tarrant County,Texa.s.
WHEREAS, This property has been delared surplus o.f the needs
of the City of Grapevine and is deemed desireable to sell
said property,
'JJHEREAS, a notice of intentions to sell and advertisement
for bids has been plac2d in the Grapevine Sun,
UIHEREAS, bids have been received and considered ,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF G�tAPEVINE, TE7{AS, THAT:
n�, The property be transfered to Robert Brown for the total
' ' consideration of "$2,075.00; said amount being the highest
bid submitted.
That the Mayor and City Secretary be authorized to execute
a deed and other legal papers necessary to convey title to
said Robert Brown.
That a title policy be furnished at City of Grapevine
expense .
That the net proceeds from the sale of said property be
deposited in the City of Grapevine General Fund.
