Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grapevine was held F
on July 2, 19�7 with the following members present: P�ayor Joe D. Clark; `
Aldermen Doil Dalton, P,. T. �idson, Norris Graham, � Wm. H. Kaker; �
Secr�tary� Hugh FJiill.ican. , � ;

Public hearing was held on proposed Ordinance No. 57-13, regularing
dogs within the City limits. One person appeared in opposition to
the ordinance . Council dirzcted that the final copy of the ordinance
be drawn and presented at the next regular meeting for adoption. ;
Council directed that a letter of protest be sent to the Civil D2fense �
Administration in their rejecting the Cityts application for aid �
in str�et �epairs. �

Petition from Willis Pirkle and wife asking that their property be !
annexed to the City of Grapevine was approv�d and the following ,
ordinance was adopted on a motion by Alderman Ka�cer and second by
Alderman Eidson:
AN ORDINANCE Ftf�C�IVING AND APINEXING T�RRITORY ADJACENT AND
CONTIGUOU5 TO TH� CITY OF GRAPEVINE, T�XP.S; RROVIDING THAT
SUCH AR EA SHALL B�COA/!E A PART OF S�l I D C I TY AND THAT THE
OWNERS AND INHA.BIT_ANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE '
PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY, AND BE BOUND BY
THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NObU IN �FF.�CT AND TO B� HEREINAFTER
ADOPTED; FUTHER PRO�IIDING FOF A11�ENDING AND CORRECTING THE I

Grapevin� for Public Library use at a monthly rate of �� 50.00
per month and located at L�0 Main Stre�t was presented for
approval . Appr�val was given for this l�ase from F. W. &
V'J. D. Wi l lhoite for a term of one y�ar was c�iven. '

and to proceed with employing one person with a salary not j
to exceed ri 2�0.00 per month. '

RESOLUTIUN SETTING SPEED LIMITS ON STATE
H I(�-IWAY NO. 114, STATB H IGHWAY NO. 121,
AND STATE LOOP NO. 10.
V�HHBREAS, Qxdinance No. 54-8, regulating traffic on the s.treets
of the City of Grapevine, Texa�, authorizes the �ity Council
of the �ity of Grapevine, Texas, to set the �peed limi€s on the
streets v�rithin the ��aid City based on engineering and traff ic
investiga.tions,
WHEREAS, the present speed limits on St�t� High�ay No. 114,
State Highmsny No. 121, and State Loop No. 16 are deemed unsafe
for existing traffic conditions,
6�iHEREAS, Or�inance No. 54-8 provides tha��t it shail be prima facie
��lawful for a�ny persAn to drive a vehicle at a speed in excess
of any s�eed limit so declared when signs are in place giving
notice of such limits.

Section 2:. This resolution, when effective as provided in
Section 3, shall nullif y a like resolution duly passed on the
4th day of December, 1956� and numbered R56-11.
Section �. These regulations shaii become effective upon the
errection of signs indicating such speed 2ones.
Section 4. This resolution, not being a pena� ordinance in itself,
need not be published to be effective but shall be in f ull force
and effect as provided in section 3. The penal section of the
previously published Ordinance No 54-8 sh all apply in this
resolution.

WHEREAS, there exists a serious traffic hazzard along State High-

was No. 111�, caused , in part, to present parking methods, and,
WHI?REAS, Resolution No. 57-2, regulating parking along said High- �
v�ay, has been found objectionable by some of the merchants along �
said Highway, and,
�
WHEREAS, after much study and consideration, an agreement has �
�een made concerning parking regulations along said Highway, �

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUTJCIL OF THE CITY OF !
GRAPEVINE, TF_XAS, THAT: �
1 . The restrictions placen into effect by Resolution No. 57-2, �
adopted April 2, 1957, be hereby recended and nullified. j

2. Parking of motor vehicles be prohibited within 1� feet of �
the pavement on the North and South sides of State Highway No. P
. 11l�_ between the intersection of Dove Road and State Highway No. �
; 11I� and the intersection of State Highway No. 114 and State= �
