The minutes of the meeting of November 6, 1956 were read and
approved. �

The following resol�tions of action were duly approvedt
�56-66 The Utility Department is hereby authorized to set a water '

of Lot 2, Block 5, Lucas Addition upon the pa�ment of

the title of Acting Utility Superintendant, effective

M56-71 All Departme�ts are to contint�e to operate as at present
until the 1957 Budget can be adopted.

M56-72 Tueday, January 8, 1957 be set as the next regular meeting �
of the City Council since the first T�esday Palls on January �
lst, a legal holiday�. The ti�ne is set for 8:00 p. m. �

M56-73 �nthorizativn be given for the refund of � 616.25 to the
First National Bank for overpayment of 1956 City Taxes;
the net payment re�aining being the sa�ne as was paid in ;
1955. �
n M56-74 'I'l�e Budget & Finance Committee be authorized to draw a
plan for evaluating the personal property within the City �
and assessment of this property for tax purposes. This
pian to be presented to the City Council for approval.

RESOLUTION SETTING SPEED LIMITS ON STATE HIGHWAY
NO. 114, STATE HIGHWAY WO. 121 , AND STATE LOOP
NO. l0 AS AUTHORI2ED BY ORDINANCE N0. 54-5, REG-
ULATING TRAFFIC ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF ;
GRAPE�IINE, TEXAS. I
W£iEREAS, Ordinance No. 54-8, regulating traffic on the streets �
of the Cit� of Grapevine , Texas, authorizes the City Council
of the City of Grapevine to set the sp�ed limits or� the streets
within t�e �aid city based on engineering and traffic inves- �
tigations,
WHEREI�S, The State Highway Department, at the request of the
City Council , has made an engineering and traffic study of '
State Highways 1 ].4 and 121 and State Loop 10 ( Dallas Road) �
and has made recornmendations as to the speed Zimits in these
areas,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 54-8 provides that it shall be prima !
facie unlawf�2 for any person to drive a vehicle at a speed
in excess of any speed so declared when signs are ir� place I
gi�ing notice of such speed limits.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
� OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1 . The following sections of streets shall be zoned
for the speed limits indicated: .
i�. On State Highway No. 11l� ( Northwest Highway) :
1 . Beginning at the west City Limits line at
Dove Road and extending eastward to the
east bour�dary� line of the W. C. Lucas
t�ddition, a distance of approximately
886 feet--------------------------------------- 50 mph.
2. Beginning at the east boundary line of the
said Lucas uddition and extendinq eastward
to a point 475 feet east of Scribner Street---- I}5 mph.
3. Begir�ning at a point 475 feet east of Scrib-
ner Street and extending eastward 1 ,�.00 feet
to a point 105 feet east of North Starnes
Street ---------------------------------------- 35 mph.
4. Beginning at a poi�t 105 feet east of North
Starnes Street and extending 1 ,500 feet east-
ward to a point 545 feet east of Dooley Street- 40 mph.
5. Beginning at a point 545 feet east of Dooley
Street ar�d extending eastward to the City
� Limits line at East Wall Street �����w�����'���� 45 mph.
B. On State Highway No. 121 :
1 . Beginning at a point at the west City Limits
at Ball Street and extending easterly to a
point 110 feet �est of Church Street------------ 40 mph� I
2. Beginning at a point 110 feet west of Church
Street and extending eastward and northward
to the intersection with State Highway 114------ 30 mph.
C. On State Loop No. 10 ( Dallas Road) :
1 . Beginning at the intersection with State
Highway 121 and extending ��astward a distance
of 3�400 feet ---------------------------------- 40 mph.
2. Beginning at the end of the above speed zone
and extending eastward to the present City
Limits line -----------------�------------------ 50 mph.
Section 2. This resolution shall nullify a like resolution duly
passed on the bth day of November, 1956 and numbered R56-10.
Section 3. These regulations shall become effective upon the
erection of signs indicating such speed zones.
Section 4. This resolution, not being a penal ordinance in
itself, need not be published to be effective but shall be
effective as provided in section 3. The penal section of
previously published ordinance No. 54-8 shall apply in this
resolution.
