� . Regular meeting of the City Council was held on March 6, 1956 with �
""� the following members present : Mayor Joe Clark; Alderman M. B. Austin, �
R. T. Eidson, E. M. Pair, & R. F.Shelton; Secretary Hugh Millican.
Mr. Brewer of the County Health Department and Mr. Loper of the
' Grapevine Lockers met with the Council to Discuss the possibility of ,
setting up a City Health Departrnent with facilities for inspection of
' animals for slaughter. No action taken.

� General discussion was held concerning parking problems along State
Highway 114. No action taken.
� Following a favorable report from the Planning & Zoning Commission, i
' Alderman Shelton made a motion and Alderman Eidson seconded the motion
!�,�(�'`� which passed, to set a public hearing at the City Hall on April 3 , 1956 �
for the consideration of the following: �

a. To change in zoning district classification from

'; "A'1 dwelling district and "B" dwelling district
to f'G1t Local Business, an area extending from Dooley
4 St. 4$3 ' west along north right of way of State
Highway 121-111� to Dooley Street . �
' b. Permanent zoning as "G" Local Business District of °
t property beginning at the intersection of Dooley St. �
's �, and State Highway 121-111�; thence north along Dooley
St. 290' ; thence east 200' to a point ; thence south
% 290' to a point ; thence west 200' along State Highway
121-111� to Dooley St. (the place of beginning) .

c. Amending Section $ of the Zoning Ordinance to include �'
�'� the followine; paragraph: �
' (la) . The following subdivisions to the City of �,
Grapevine ; Bellaire section A, Bellaire
section B, Sky Harbor section A, Sky Harbor
section B, shall have a front yard depth of
not less than twenty-five ( 25 ) feet from the
I� property line to the front line of the build-
'� ing, covered porch, or covered terrace, or
attached accessary building .
; Alderman Shelton introduced the followin,� resolution and moved its adop-
tion:
�; �VHFREAS, the City Council of the City of Grapevine is
desirous of expanding the recreational facilities avail-
" �f�,,� � ab�,e in and around Grapevine ,
� and ,
Tu+7HEREAS , the Grapevine Reservoir located just North of the
City of Grapevine is recognized as having great potentials
as a recreation
' cent er, and,
�.�THEREAS , it has been called to the attention of the City
; . Colzncil that an area at the ReServoir known as the Silver
Lak� Park area is available for development. "

N0�-�1 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL �
y� OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS THAT: i

An application be submitted to the District Engineer
of the Corps of Engineers , seeking a license to operate �
the Silver Lake Area for recreational purposes ,
including the right to operate concessions in '
conjunction therewith and/or to enter into an agreement
` with a third party to operate such concessions ,
And, such application shall not be fully binding on '
�� either the City of Grapevine or the District Engineer
until such time as details of the license a.greement ;
have been agreec� to by both parties, t

And , that the City Secretary be authorized to submit ;
such preliminary applications as may be necessary to i
said District Engineer for thi s purpose,
' r � And , that a cop,y of this resolution be sent to the '
District Engineer indicatin� the City's intentions.
Alderman Eidson seconded the motion which assed b vote 4-0. ,�

m5G-:,b Alderman Fidson moved that the city employ Claude S. Smith and ��lalter �
' Spence as night patrolman fo.r the City of Grapevine at a salary of �200.00
; per mont h each.
Motion seconded by Alderman Shelton and passed by vote.
Alderman Shelton moved that the city continue Lee Tidwell 's employment
� �hSG- i� until 7 days after the new men begin work then allow him one week's �
paid vacation. Motion seconded by Alderman Eidson and passed by vote.
Alderman Eidson moved that a 2 hour parking limit be placed into effect
; �S�-�z on ���est ��Iorth St. between Main and Barton �treets , Alderman Shelton
seconded the motion which passed by vote.
