�' � Shelton; Secretary Hugh Millican. Aldermen Joe Box and M. B.
Austin were absent.
; Aldermen Pair introduced a resolution and made a motion that
it be adopted. The motion was seconed by aldermen Shelton. �
The motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution
prevailed by the following vote:
AYES: Aldermen 5helton, Fdison, Pair and Mayor clark.
NOES: None.
The resolution as follows:
RESOLUTION
BY THF CITY COU�CIL OF THF CITY OF GRAP�VINE,TEXAS
C.ILLIT�TG AN ELECTION ON THE PR�POSITION OF THE
ISSUANCE OF �30,000.00 STREFT IMPROVr?��ENT BONDS.
- iaHEREAS, the City Council of the �ity of Grapevine, Texas,
' deems it advisable to issue the bonds of said City �or the •
� purposes hereinafter mentioned;
° BF IT RESOLViD AND ORnERED BY THF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
° , GRAPEVINE, TEX.4S:
j � 1. That an election be held in said City of Gr�pevine, Texas,
'I on the $th day of September, 1956, at which election the
! following proposition shall be submitted:
"Shall the City Council of the City of Grapevine ,
h bonds of said Cit
Texas be authorized to issue t e y
in the amount of �30,000.00, maturing serially in
such installments as may be fixed by the City Council,

the maximum maturity being not more than Twenty ive
'' ( 25 ) years from their date, bea�in� interest at a rate
not to exceed Four ard one-half (441) per cent per
annum, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay interest
as it accrues and principal as it matures on said issue
of bonds, for the purpose of improving the streets of
said City, -as authorized by the Constitution an�� laws
II� of the State of Texas."

That said election shall be held at the City Hall within
said Cit y, and the following named persons are hereby appointed
officers of said election, to-wit:

' j James Buckner, Judge
j � Mary Ruth Tate, Clerk,
Irene Simmons, �lerk,
3. That said election shall be under the provisions of Chapter
1, Title 22 of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as
amended, and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter

163 , Act of the Regular Session of the Forty Second
Legislature, as further modified by the provisions of
Article 1111-111$, both inclusive, Revised Civil Statutes
of 1925 , as amended. Only le�ally qualified electors who own
, property in the �ity and who have duly rendered the same for .
taxation shall be qualified to vote. _
4. The ballots for said election shall have written or printed ,
thereon the following: �,

his vote on such proposition. ;;

5. A substanti_^1 copy of this resolution signed by the Mayor of
gaid City and �ttested by the City Secretary shall serve as �
proper notice of said election. Notice shall be given in !
accordance with -leticle 704, Revised �ivi1 Statutes of 1925 , i
as amended. The Mayor is authorized and directed to have a i
copy of said notice posted at the City Hall in said City, i
and at two other public places within said City, not less than i
fifteen . days prior to the date fixed for holding said election. !
• He shall also cause said notice to be published on the same day i
in each of two sucr.essive weeks in a newspaper of general i
circulation purlished within said �ity, the date of the
first publication to be not less than fourteen days prior to f . i
the date set for said election. Except as otherwise provided �
in said Article 704, as amended, the manner of holding said elec-
tion shall be governed by the laws governing gener<-�1 elections.
