Potter of the Te�as Kighc�Fay Department, and Mr, Earl i ^ Johnsan, County Commissi�ner, met with the council to discuss possible ; imr�ravements �Go State Highway 314 thrc�ugh Grapevine. Zt was pointed out that should the City desire this work, then the City would be re�uired ; ; ta pay for the cost of installing curbs and gutters and necessary i I storm sewers , with the State paying for the cost of gr��ding and paving � � of the highc�ay sectic�n. The City's cost ha� been estimated to be � � �27,OC70.00. Mr. Bossey explained that when the money is available i y from the City, then a letter shauld be sent to the Highway Department �' � a�king that the impravements be made. He wi11 then ree�ues� State money � ` '� fc�r the cons�ruction. He al�o st�ted that in �he event the Ci�y's �' ' share would come from bond s<�les , then �,he prece�ure would be that he � would re�uest the Stt�te money and if a�r�roved by the State, then the ( Gity �ell boncis. In the event the state should not ap�rove the const- ; ruction then, no sale of bonds would be required even though they had ; been authorized by vote of the people. 1, Mr. W. W. ��Tillhoite appe�red before the Council to request that the City � cantribute to the fund to pay for the nighwatch service in the cen�r�2 � business section. He explained tha� the amount of money cantributed by ' the merchants had decre� �ed tg a point where the service could ngt be � maintained after January lst. Alderman Box moved that the Council au- � �j�G��" t�orize payment of �I�fl.00 per month beginin� January l, 19�.5 for this i� service. Alderman Shelton �econded the motzon which passed "by vote, 5to0. The Cauncil discussed the nassiblP buildin� of �. n�w fire �tat3on on the lot north of water plant ;�l with Fire Chief Greener and �ssistent Chief � mSt•s3 Hadge�s• The matter of size , de�ign and eGtimated cast was referred ta , the Fire Chie� for study and report. Alderrnan Pair introduced the traffic & parking resolutian, an �he A� Ss-t� following page and maved its adaption; �lderman Austin seconded the i �#�. � motian which pas�ed by vate, 5 to 0. ! Alderman Shelton moved that the sewer connection charge for the Sinclair ���-s5 Servi.ce static�n on }�l. North �est Highway owned by D. E. Dalton be set at �10$.00 Motion was �ecanded by Ald�rman Eidson and pa�sed by vot�, 5 to 0. _ Alderman Box moved that �Ghe question concerning �aater and �ewer connections ` � 4b to the hause on Scribner Street which ta��s sold by E. The proposed budget for the year c�f 1956, copy of which is cantained an the following pages, was pre�ented far �ansideratian. After dis- ' cussion and study, Alderman Box moved the adop�ion of the forgoing ' �� praposed budget. Alderman Eidson seconded the motion which passed by vate, 5 to 0. Secret,ary Millic�n presented the request that the Council set bonds to caver em�alayees and �ha� such bonds should be cammercial bonds rather than personal bonds as is the �resent cc�ndition. Alderman Eidson moved that all employees whieh handle C3ty maney furnish commercial ' mis' �'� bonds in the amount of �5 ,000.00 and th�t the City's Auditor be rer�uested to make further recommen�ations in this ma�ter. Motion was seconded by Alderman Box and passed by vote, 5 to 0. Mayor a�?pointed G. ;��T. Smith as member of the Planning &, Zaning Commission ; ��s,� for the unexpired term of John Hemley, which term is to expire January j ��, �.95�. Alderm�n Bax moved th�t �he a�r�ointment be �pproved. Motion w�s seconded by Alderman Shelton and pa�sed by vote , 5 to a. Alderman Box moved that the following persans be appointed to the �'oning Baard of �'�djustment, each for a twa year period with terms expiring December 31, 195'7 as pravided far in Ordinance No. 55-6: �44-� l. Following a request from Mr. GannQn, Alderman Shelton moved that the City apprave the instal3.ation af a street light to be lacated just �Ss.qi east of the Elementary school building and the City's contr�ct be ' amended to include such 1.i�ht. I�'4ation w�s �econded by Alderman Ei:�son ; and passed by vote. � � Alderman She.lton moved that the council apnrove plat shcawing a revision of lots 3 and 4, block l, Hilltat� .�ddition, as apr.roved by the Planning S,�,ti� and 7oning Commission on Novemb�r 16, 1955 ; and to autharize the M�,yor 1� and Secre�ary sign same. Motion was secc�nded by Alderman Pair and passed by vote, 5 ta 0. A2derman Bc�x moved. that the City Cauncil approve a reduction in the , a�ses�ed valu� of the E. 60' of lot 2 , Block 33 , City of Grapevine due � to an orignal overvaluation of the g�.rage; �he new value for tax i ��y'�3 purposes to be �3 ,110.00; and if payment is received by December 31, i ' 1955 , the diseount of 3� be allot�red. Stop signs be errected at the following intersections to indicate that a full stop must be made before proceeding into or through the said intersection: A. On Jenkins Street at E. Franklin Street. B. On Jenkins Street at E. Worth Street. C. On Jenkins Street at E. Texas Street. , D. On Jenkins Street at E. VJall Street. � E. On W. Wall at Main Street. ' F. On E. Wall at Main Street. G. E.
