AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 5,
SECTION 1 AND 2 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE� TEXAS SO AS TO DEFINE A TRAILER
PARK AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING TRAILERS TO BE
PLACED OUTSIDE OF A LICENSED PARK; PROVIDING
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION I
Title 4, Chapter 5, Section l and 2 of the City Code of the City
of Grapevine, Texas be amended to read as follows :
4-5-1: DEFINITIONS:
TRAILER COACH: The term"trailer coachf1 shall mean any
vehicle or similar portable structure having no foundation other
than wheels , jacks , blocks, or skirtings , and so designated or
constructed to permit occupancy for dwelling or sleeping purposes.
TRAILER PARK: The term "trailer park" shall mean any site,
lot, field, or tract of ground upon which two or more trailer
coaches are placed, and shall include any building, structure,
tent , vehicle or enclosure used or intended for use as a part
of the equipment of such park.
TRAILER COACH LOT: The term "trailer coach lot" shall
mean a unit of level adequately drained ground of definite size,
clearly indicated by corner markers for the placing of a trailer
coach or a trailer coach and tow car.
4-5-2: TR.AILERS OUTSIDE LICENSED PARK:
It shall be unlawful for any person to locate or maintain
any trailer coach in any place in the city, other than a duly
licensed and lawful trailer coach park, unless such person shall
first secure a permit from the city council upon written applica-
tion therefor filed with the city inspec�tor, giving the name and
address of the applicant and a description of the property upon
which said trailer coach is to be located. The city council shall
refuse to grant any such permit unless approval is recommended by
the planning and aoning cammission, and unless �he applzcant
. shall first show �o the satisfaction of the city inspector that
there are adequa�e water and sanitary facilities available with-
in reasonable distance of such trailer caach location, or that
the applicant, upon �ocating upon such premi�es, shall provide
or cause to be provided, the same. It shall be unlawful for
any person to maintain, lacate, or live in any such trailer
coach without fir�t obtaining such permi� from the city.
SECTION II
That if any section, subsection, word, sentence ar p�rase
o� this ordinance shall be declared invalid or unconstitutianal
such declaration shall nat a�fec� the validity of any other part
of this ordinance.
SECTION III
If, being for the public welfare that this ordinance be
passed and such amendment� be made, there exists an emergency
and public necessity tha� the rule requiring this ordinance
to be read on two several occas�ions Be and the Same is Here-
by Waived and this ordinance shall naw be placed on its third
and final reading to its passage, and shall be in full torce
and effect from and after its passage and approval and publica-
tion.
