AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS: PROV IDING THAT THE AREA DESCRIBED BELOW,
SHALL BECOME A PART OF THE SAID CITY AND THAT
THE OWNERS AND THE INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE
ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS
OF SAID CITY AND BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES
NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED: FURTHER
PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL
BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS
AMENDED, AND CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE:
VJHEREAS, petitions for annexations have been duly signed and ac-
knowledged by the individual owning the following tracts of land:
Al1 the certain tracts or parcels of land situated in Tarrant
County, Texas, being parts of the G. W. Minter Survey, Abstract
1034 and owned by the following persons :
Tract No. 1: Emma Deen Johnson
Tract No. 2: E. D. Johnson
- Tracts No.3 ;
4; 5; 6; & 7: M. L. Smith
Tract No. 8: Marvin Jennings
SAID tracts of land being more particularly described as
follows:
Tract No. 1
All that 40 acres (First Tract) ,and 25 acres (Second Tract) , out of
said survey, conveyed by W. H. Gray and wif e Edna Gray to John
Johnson, grantor herein , on February 6, 1929 by deed recorded in
Book 1076 page 320 Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas , less the
one acre out of same conveyed to John W. Johnson by deed recorded
in Book 1423 page 193 Deed Records of TarrantCounty, Texas , the 3.6
acre tract out of same conveyed to E. R. Barton and wife by deed
recorded in Book 1712 page 393 Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and the 4.718 acre tract out of same conveyed to E. R. Barton
and wife by deed recorded in Book 1833 page 210 Deed Records of
" Tarrant County, Texas.
All that 15 acre tract out of said survey conveyed by R. E. Morrow
to John Johnson on August 17, 1931 by deed recorded in Book 1143
page 601 Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, more particularly
described in the deed of conveyance to R. E. Morrow, dated April
30, 1931 and recorded in Book 1128 page 478 Deed Records of Tarrant
County, Texas .
Said land herein conveyed is described on the Tax Rolls of The
Assessor and Collector of Tarrant County, Texas as Tracts 3, 4 and
4A of said G. W. Minter Survey.

BEGINNING at an iron bar in the center of County Road No. 3120,
said point being 1218.13 feet East of the Northwest corner of
the G. W. MINTER SURVEY; Thence South O degrees 35 minutes West
838.5 feet to an iron bar at fence corner; Thence 88 degrees
10 minutes West 346.0 feet with fence to an iron bar at fence
corner; Thence North 1 degree 50 minutes East 827.2 feet to a
point in the North line of the G. W. MINTER SURVEY; Thence
East with the North line of the G. W. MINTER SURVEY, 328.0 feet
to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, and containing 6.446 Acres , more or less .
Tract No. 3
BEGINNING at a point 38.9 feet South and 591 .5 feet West of the
Southwest corner of a Tract #14 awarded to the Heirs of John
Newton in Cause #2834 in District Court, Tarrant County, Texas ,
said point of beginning also being the Northwest corner of tract
conveyed by Jesse J. Hall and wif e, Mary Ruth Hall , to Merritt L.
Smith and wife, Arlene D. Smith by deed dated November 21 , 1960,
recorded in Vol. 3510, Page 484, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas ;
THENCE South 981 feet to an iron pin for corner; Thence South 89
degrees, 46 minutes West 888 feet to an iron pin for corner;
Thence North 981 feet to an iron pin for corner, said iron pin being
in South right-of-way line of a Dirt Lane; Thence North 89 degrees ,
46 minutes East 888 feet to the place of beginning and containing
and containing 20 acres , moreor less ; SAVE AND EXCEPT any part or
- portion thereof in the use or occupancy of any public road or highway.

BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of the tract of 12 acres, more or
less , described in deed from Jesse J. Hall and wife, Mary Ruth Hall,
to Merritt L. Smith et ux Arlene D. Smith, dated October 7, 1960,
recorded in Vol . 3495 , Page 246, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas,
for the beginning and Northeast corner of the tract herein described;
THENCE South 89 degrees 46 minutes West 160.3 feet ; Thence South
705.5 feet to a stake for corner ; Thence North 89 degrees 50 minutes
East 160.3 feet to a stake for corner; Thence North 705.5 feet to
the place of beginning , and containing 2.8 acres, more or less ;
SAVE AND EXCEPT any part or portion thereof in the use or occupancy
of any public road or highway.

BEGINNING at a point in the center of a dirt road, said point being
38. 9 feet South of the Southwest corner of Tract 14 awarded to
" Heirs of John Newton , in Cause No. 2834, in District Court, Tarrant
County, Texas , and also being 38.9 feet South of the Northwest
corner of a tract of 15.32 acres described in deed from Jesse J.
Hall et ux, Mary Ruth Hall to E. M. Thompson, a single man, dated
3-19-54, recorded in Book 2687, page 56, Deed Records , Tarrant
County, Texas . THENCE South with the center line of said road
632.3 feet ; Thence South 55 degrees 58 minutes East with the
center line of said road 223. feet ; Thence South 9 degrees 42
minutes East with center line of said road 225 feet ; Thence
South 89 degrees 50 minutes West 814.3 feet ; Thence North 274.5
feet ; Thence North 89 degrees 50 minutes East 160.3 feet ; Thence
North 705.5 feet ; Thence North 89 degrees 46 minutes East 431.2
feet to the point of beginning, and containing 12.0 acres of land,
more or less; SAVE AND EXCEPT any part or portion thereof in the use
or occupancy of any public road or highway.
Tract No. 6
BEGINNING at an iron pin 1479.5 feet West and 428.6 feet South
from the Southwest corner of tract No. 14 awarded to the Heirs
of John Newton in Cause No. 2834, in the District Court of
Tarrant County, Texas ; THENCE South 591.3 feet to an iron pin
for corner; said point being the Southwest co rner of a 20.0
acre tract deeded by J. J. Hall and wife to Leon Smith an d wife,
by deed dated July 24, 1964, as recorded in Volume 3957, Page 18,
Deed Records , Tarrant County, Texas ; Thence South 89 degrees
46 minutes West 221.0 feet to an iron pin for corner; Thence
North 0 degrees 14 minutes East 591.3 feet to an iron pin for
corner; Thence North 89 degrees 46 minutes East 218.5 feet to
the point of beginning and containing 3.0 acres of land.

BEGINNING at a post in the North line of the Watauga-Smithfield
County Line Road 686.71 varas East and 9 varas North of the South-
west corner of the G. W. Minter Survey; said post being 9 varas
North of the Southeast corner of a 6 acre tract of land as shown
in Vol. 1734, Page 43, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas ;
THENCE North with the West line of a road 372 varas a post the
Northeast corner of said 6 acre tract ; Thence West with old
fence line at 84.71 varas the Northeast corner of a 20 acre
tract of and as shown in Vo1. 1734, Page 43 , Deed Records , Tarrant
County, Texas , in all 152 varas an iron pin ; Thence South 372
varas an ironpin in the North line of said Road; Thence East
with said North line 152 varas to the place of beginning;
SAVE AND EXCEPT any part or portion thereof in the use or
occupancy of any public road or highway.

BEGINNING at a point in the North line of the G. W. Minter Survey
Abastract #1034, 188.7 feet West of its Northeast corner. Said
point being 188.7 feet West of the Northeast corner of a 24.5
acre tract of land as shown in Vol. 2405 , page 260, Deed Records,
Tarrant County, Texas ; THENCE South 505.7 feet a stake; Thence
West 253.3 feet a stake; Thence North 505.7 feet to the North
line of said Survey; Thence East with said North line 253.3 feet
to the placeof beginning.

WHEREAS, said tracts are contiguous and adjacent and in the
extra-territorial jurisdiction of the City of Grapevine, Texas ,
Wf-IEREAS, said petitions were duly and lawfully and properly
presented to the City Council , and,
WHEREAS, after hearing such petitions and the arguments for
and against the same, the City Council has unanimously voted
to grant such petitions and to annex said tracts to the City
of Grapevine, Texas , and,
WHEREAS, all legal requirements for the annexation of said
tracts have been heretof ore duly, timely, and properly per-
formed and done; and,
WHEREAS, it is for the general welfare, and for and to the
advantage of the public to have fire and police protection,
and to the benefit of the City of Grapevine, Texas and of and
for said tracts , that same be now annexed to the City of
Grapevine , Texas:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
That the said tracts of land, as above described, be and the
same are hereby annexed to the City of Grapevine, in Tarrant
County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of
Grapevine, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to in-
clude the abov e described tracts within the City Limits of
Grapevine, Texas , a municipal corporation, and said tracts
of land, and the future inhabitants thereof shall hereafter
be entitled to rights and privileges of other citizens of
the City of Grapevine, Texas, and, they shall be hereafter
bound by the acts and Ordinance of said City.
That if any clause, phrase, sentence, paragraph, or section
of this ordinance shall be held void or unconstitutional for
any reason, same shall not effect the other parts of this
ordinance.
Passed on first reading to the second reading by an affirma-
