' AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
OCTOB�R 1, 1967, AND ENDtNG SEPTEMBER 30, 1968 :
LEVYING TAXES FQR THE YEAR 1967 TO BE ASSESSED ON
ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINf, TEXAS : AND PROVIDING PEI�fALTiES AND
INTEREST FOR DEUQUENT TAXES, AND PROVIDING FOR
THE iNfRA AND INTER-0EPARTMENT AND FUND TRAI�iSFERS,
AND PROVIDING FOR THE INVESTMENT OF IDLE FUNDS :
WHEREAS, notice of a pubiic hearing on the Budget for the City of G�apevine,
Texas for the fiscal year, 1967-68 was heretofore published at least five days
in advance of said hear�ng, and
WHEREAS, a public heoring was duly held and all interested persons were given
an opportunity to be heard fo� or against any item therein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCiL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS :
SECTION 1 .

Texas for the year, 1967, at the rate of $1 .00 per One Hundred Dol lars ($100.00) i,
valuation. '�

SECTION 2.

That there shall be and there is hereby levied the following tsaxes on each one
hundred ($100.00) doll�s valuation on all taxable property wdthin the City of
Grapevine, Teacas, t�o be assessed and collected by the Tca Assessor and Collector �
for the year 1967, �d said tcaces are to be assessed and collected for the the
purpose hereinafter stipulated, to-wit :
(a) For the General Fund levied on the
$100.00 valuation $ •6� ��2
(b) For the Interest c�d Sinking Fund
levied on the $100.00 valuation $ .32 1�2

�i SECTION 3.
� That the City Manager be and is hereby outhorized to make intra and inter
' department fund tronsfers during the fiscal year as becomes necessary in order
to av�oid over expenditwes of a pa�ticular account.
SECTION 4.
That the City Mar�ager is authorized to invest any funds not needed for current
use, whether operating funds or bond funds in United States Treasury Bills, Certificates
of Deposit, Swings Acoounts, and/or Time Deposit Open Account in Official City
Depositories. Inte�est accrued from such investments may be deposited to the Genera!
Fund.
SECTION 5.
Tcucea levied by this ordinance shall be due and payable on October 1, 1967, and
shall become deliquent on the first day of Februery, 1968, if unpaid; upon taxes
becoming deliquent, a penalty of 10% of such deliquent taxes shall accrue on the
first day of February. Interest upon deliquent tcnces and penalties shall accn�e at
the rote of 696 per mr�um commencing #rom the date of deliquency. The City of
Grapevine is hereby authorized b adopt any and all lega) remedies provided by • '
the Revised Civi) Statutes of the State of Texas cnd the Grapevine City Charter as
� provided in Article 9, Section 9,25 for the purpose of collecting deliquent taxes. '

SECTION 6.
The fact that the fisca) year begins on October 1, 1967, requires that this ordinance '':
be effective upon its passage and adoption to preserve the pubiic peace, property, , �
health and safety, �d the rules requiring ordinances be read and passed on two �
seporate dates is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall be in ful) force ond �
effect from and after its passage and acioption.
