AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO BE IN THE
NIGHT TIME, OR OTHER INAPPROPRIATE TIMES, IN,
OR ABOUT ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE BUILDINGS OR
. PREMISES, WITHOUT RIGHT OR PERMISSION AND UNDER
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, OR TO SLEEP OR LOUNGE

THEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section; l. It shall be unlawful for any person to be in the
night time or other inappropriate times, in,or about any public
buildings or premises where he, she, or they have no right or
permission to be, under suspicious circumstances, and without
being able to give a satisfactory account of the same. �
Section 2 . It shall be unlawful for any person to sleep or
lounge in any street, alley, highway, square, sidewalk or other
public place not belonging to such person.
��^ Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon

conviction shall be fined in any amount not exceeding $200 . 00,
' and each day' s violation shall constitute a separate offense.
The fact that there is no sufficient law in the City of
Grapevine adeQuate to control persons being in public or private
buildings in the night time under suspicious circumstances and
sleeping and lounging in public places creates an emergency and
that a public necessity exists that the rule requiring ordinances
be read on two several occasions be suspended, and same is hereby
suspended, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately after
its passage and legal publication and be so ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED by a unanimous vote of all councilmen
� present on this the 15th day of March, 1966. �
