BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE� T�A�: �ECTTON l. Effective with the first gas bil�.s rendered on or after the 1 s t day of Ju lv , 1966 , the general ser- vice rate fbr sales of natural gas rendered to residential and commercial consumers within the city limits of Grapevine by Lone Star Gas Company, a Texas corporation, its successors and assigns, is hereby fixed and deter- mined as follows: First 1 MCF or fraction thereof �1.65 gross; �1.50 net A11 Additional @ �.8433 gross per MCF $•759 net per MCF AD JUSTMENT� The amount of' each net monthly bill computed at the above stated �, rates sha11 be subject to the following adjustments: Plus 1�2 of 1°fo of the amount computed at the above stated rates for each whole point by which the ' average of the 12 most recent monthly values for the "All Item Consumer �� Price" Index compiled by the United States Department of Labor on a 1957- 1959 base, or adjusted thereto, exceeds 105; plus or minus the amount of any increase or decrease, respectively, in the present authorized intra- company city gate chaxge as fixed by the Railroad Commission of the �tate of Texas or other regulatory body having jurisdiction for gas delivered to Lone Stax Gas Company's distribution system for sale to residential and commercial consumers in the City of Grapevine; plus an amount equivalent to the proportionate paxt of any new tax, or increased rate of tax, or governmental imposition or charge (except state, county, city and special district ad valorem taxes and any taxes on net income� levied or assessed against the Company or on its gas business, as the result of any new or amended law, ordinance or contract, after January l, 1964. Each gross monthly bill shall be adjusted proportionately. Company at its option may forego the application of any adjustment if such adjustment would result in an increase in the monthly bill; however, failure of Company to apply any adjustment sha11 not constitute a waiver of Companyts right, from time to time or at any time, to make any adjustment in whole or in part, in any subsequent cusrent monthly bill that may be applicable to such bill under the provisions of the foregoing adjustments. Net rate sha11 apply to a11 bills paid within ten days from ,�a� monthly billing date. � < � . 4* . j In addition to the af oresaid rates� Company sha11 have the right to collect such reasonable charges as are necessary to conduct its business and to caxry out its reasonable rules and regulations in effect. The above rate is applicable to each residential and co�ercial consumer per month or for any part of a month f or which gas is used at the same location. SECTION 2. The rate set forth in Section 1 may be changed and amended by either the City or Company furnishing gas in the manner pro- vided by law. Service hereunder is subject to the orders of regulatory bodies having jurisdiction� and to the Company°s Rules and Regulations currently on file in the Companyts office. SECTION 3. The fact that there is an imperative public need for an ordinance fixing and determining the rate f or gas and gas service furnished to residential and cor�nercial consum.ers creates an emergency and the reading of' this ordinance on two (2� several days is hereby sus- pended and this ordinance shall take effect and be in fu11 f orce from and after the date of its passage at a single meeting and the approval thereof by the Mayor.
