A member of the public may address the <Board> regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board's consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the <Chairman> or upon the consent of the <Board>. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the <Board> is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. New Business 1) Summary of Golf Course Operations 4th Quarter and discussion (Russell Pulley) 2) Clubhouse Project update (Russell Pulley) 3) Water Line Project (Russell Pulley) 4) Instructional program (Jr. Golf Academy, PGA Jr. League. Get Golf Ready) (Robert Singletary) 5) Golf Course maintenance report (Merlin Tielkemeier) Consideration of minutes Consider approval of the minutes of the October 15, 2020 meeting and take any necessary action. Russell Pulley, Director of Golf Golf Board STATE OF TEXAS :-�"OUNTY OF TARRANT CI`PY OF GRAPEVINE The Golf Course Advisory Board of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in regular session on this 21st day of January 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at the Grapevine Golf Course, 3800 Fairway Drive, with the following members present: Gary Davis Member Louis Capone Member Bryan Humphreys Member Tom Kormondy Member Robert Blalock Member Jonathan Wall Member Ronnie Hatley Member Tom Cherry Member Deborah Gore Member Constituting a quorum, with the following members of the City Staff: Russell Pulley Paul Slechta Robert Singletary Merlin Tielkemeier Director of Golf City Council Member Head Golf Professional Superintendent CALL TO ORDER Gary Davis called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments. ITEM 1- Summary of Golf Course Operations 4th Otr. and discussion (Robert Singletary & Russell Pulley) Robert & Russell shared the 4th Qtr Golf Operations Summary report. Highlights were another good quarter with golf rounds and revenues up over prior year. Merchandise and Range revenue were slightly lower to prior year. Range is taking a beating with increased use and loss of tee turf space. Lower range revenue due to lights and night range operations being closed since April 202 due to Covid procedures and clubhouse construction. Bryan asked about future range plans. Russell replied that we are working on master plan for entire practice area and hope to get some items done in next Fiscal year. ITEM 2 — Clubhouse Proiect update (Russell Pulley) Robert showed pictures via projector of the current progress of the new clubhouse and explained layout and flow. April to May 2021 is current estimated timeline for completion. Would like to provide a tour for GA during April meeting. Russel and Robert glad to provide a walk through for 1-2 Advisory Board members on a request basis. ITEM 3 Water Line Proiect Merlin reported that the water line project is almost completed. Pecan area is complete and sod has been installed. Bluebonnet area should be completed by end of January. IITM 4 Instructional Program Update (Jr. Academy, PGA Jr. League. Get Golf Readv) (Robert Singletarv) Robert reported that PGA Junior league for 2021 is planned, but we are not sure if Grapevine will participate due to conflicts. The JR academy has started and Eric has 8 students. The 2021 Get Golf Ready Programs will start in March. ITEM 5- Golf Course Maintenance Report (Merlin Tielkemeier) Merlin reported that normal winter projects are under way. I.E. Tree trimming, drainage work, and irrigation head replacement and adjustments, etc. Gary Davis asked about big tree on #6 tee Pecan any plans to trim as it blocks tee shots. Merlin said he would address ASAP. Merlin shared status of Audubon for golf course. We are in final stage have final study to complete. Ronnie Hatley offered to assist via GGA if needed. Bryan asked about cart path repair needed on # 9 Mockingbird. Merlin said he was aware ad there are other areas that need repair as well. CONCIDERATION of MINUTES Consideration to approve the minutes from the October 10, 2020 meeting were approved by a motion by Tom Kormondy with a second from Robert Blalock. ADJOURNMENT Tom Cherry asked for an adjournment of the meeting and a second was made by Louis Capone. All were in favor and no one opposed.
