After considerable di6cu.�sion, the old franchise of llay 3rd, 1929 was cancelled and new franchise was granted said Company, a copy of the ordinance, g r ad"ting the franchise is attached to the ordinance records of th4 'ective on this date, the s- id Coripany to pay the City City. AXdO=b=X1AajUk I" laX A motion was made and duly seconded and unanimously carried approving all previous tax rolls and taX rates and setting the tax rates for 1942 at 41.40 per 11undrod rendition and to allow all tax payers Paying their taxes on or before Dece-mber lst, 19421 a 5% disco -ant for the year 1942. -rhis discount to apply only to 19421 taxes. A motion was made and duly seconded and unanimously carried to that effect. Due to the fact .that Fire Chief E. 0. Daniel had mDved oway from Grapevine and not being in position to act in this capacity, the Grapevine fire Department presented a petition asking Chas® Thomas be appointed Fire chief. on motion duly, seconded Or. Chas. ihqmas was unanimously appointed fire chief of the Grape- vinp volunteer Fire Department. Ae Council unanimously voted to give :mayor All permission to rent the Grapqvinwe Canning Plant Building for $15.00 per month. Thera being no further busineui motion carried to adjourn.
