COUNTY OF TARRANT
CITY OF GRAPEVINE
The Board of Zoning Adjustment for the City of Grapevine, Texas, met in regular
session, Monday evening, May 3, 1993, at 6:00 P.M., in the Council Chambers,
Room #205, 307 West Dallas Road, Grapevine, Texas, with the following members
present to wit:
Charles Giffin
Chairman
Randy Howell
Secretary
Ery Meyer
Member
Chris Coy
Member
Al Zimmerman
2nd Alternate
constituting a quorum with Vice Chairman, Patti Bass and 1 st Alternate, Ron Williams
absent. Also present were City Council Representative, Gil Traverse, and the
following City Staff:

Marcy Ratcliff Planner
Gerrie Anderson Administrative Secretary
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman, Charles Giffin called the meeting to order at 6:05 P.M.
NEW BUSINESS
BZA 93-07 GLENN O'NEAL
The first item of new business for the Board of Zoning Adjustment to consider was
BZA93-07, submitted by Glenn O'Neal who is requesting a variance to Grapevine
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance 82-73, Section 43.E.3., Changing Nonconforming
Uses, for 649 West Hudgins Street. The request is to allow the enlargement of a
garage for storage as shown on the plot plan.
Greg Wheeler explained that Mr. O'Neal is currently storing many personal belongings
in a semi -trailer parked on the property. Mr. O'Neal would like to expand this
nonconforming use to be able to store his personal belongings and move the semi-
trailer.
With no one to speak either for or against the request, Randy Howell made a motion
to close the public hearing. Ery Meyer seconded the motion which prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Giffin, Howell, Meyer, Coy, Zimmerman
Nays: None
Absent: Bass, Williams
Randy Howell then made a motion that a special condition did exist and the special
condition being, that it does not alter any setback requirements for the enlargement
of the storage building, along with taking away the structure that is being utilized now
for personal storage. Ery Meyer seconded the motion which prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Giffin, Howell, Meyer, Coy, Zimmerman
Nays: None
Absent: Bass, Williams
Randy Howell then made a motion to grant the variance from Grapevine
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance 82-73, Section 43.E.3., Changing Nonconforming
Uses to allow the enlargement of a garage for storage as shown on the plot plan. Ery
Meyer seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Giffin, Howell, Meyer, Coy, Zimmerman
Nays: None
Absent: Bass, Williams
The next item of new business was for the Board of Zoning Adjustment to consider
BZA93-08 submitted by William Brown who is requesting the following variances for
809 Redbud Lane, from Grapevine Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance 82-73:
1. Section 15.& 1 ., Front Yard Setback District Regulations which requires a 30
foot front yard building setback.
The variance request is to allow the carport a fifteen (15) foot variance, to
encroach the thirty (30) foot front yard, as shown on the plot plan.
2. Section 15.G.2., Rear Yard Setback District Regulations which requires a 25
foot rear yard setback.
