BACKGROUND: Public Works staff is seeking City Council approval for a traffic signal at
the intersection of Grapevine Mills Boulevard and Kubota Drive.During

signalized intersection.
On the north side of Kubota Drive is the Bluffs Apartment complex and the
Kubota North American Headquarters complex. Both the Paycom complex
and the Southland Holdings office buildings are expected to open this
year. On the south side of Kubota Drive is the Billingsley mixed-use
development including apartments, restaurants, commercial and retail
establishments.
The signal will be installed by Public Works staff and is estimated to cost
$350,000.

Durable Specialties. The Public Works and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contracts for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contracts would provide the best products and pricing
for meeting the needs of the City.
The remaining funding ($139,127) will be used to cover flat work,
pavement markings, and other incidental items and will be performed
under existing contracts.
At the time of the mixed-use plan development, Billingsley Property
Services, Inc. escrowed $88,000 for their proportional share of the signal.
The remaining funding will come from land proceeds from the 185 acre
