HomeMy WebLinkAboutBZA1990-40;F; 0 TEXAS ` I OF TA GRANT OF GRAPEVINE Board of Zoning Adjustment for the City of Grapevine, Texas, met regular session on Monday evening, February 4, 1991, at 6.00 ., in the Council Chambers, Room #205, 307 West Dallas Read, .,- vine, Texas with the following members present to wit: Charles Giffin Gerald Thompson Patti Bass John Dorety Andrew Quinn Chairman Secretary Member Member lst Alternate °,tituting a quorum, with Vice Chairman, Raymond Truitt and 2nd lornate Randy Howell absent. Also present was City Council ,li,esentative. Gil Traverse, and the following City Staff: Greg Wheeler Building Official Joy Carroll Administrative Aide Roger Beecham Attorney, City Attorney's Office Gerrie Anderson Administrative Secretary TO ORDER irman, Charles Giffin, called the meeting to order at 6 :03 P.M. BUSINESS 90 --4% ROY STEWART HOMES, INC. item of old business for the Board of Zoning Adjustment to i.der was BZA 90 -41D, submitted by Roy Stewart Homes, Inc. This was tabled at the last months meeting because Mr. Stewart was .e to attend the public hearing. 7t -owart is requesting a variance from Grapevine Zoning Ordinance Section 15.G.3, for R --7.5, Single Family, six W) foot side requirements. A .2 foot variance is being requested to allow a foot side yard along the north property line. The request is ?025 Winding Creek, West, Lot 35, Block 9, Winding Creek I. Wheeler explained that Community Development had received a from Stan Laster, Assistant Director of Public Works, stated A. Mr.. Stewart has approached Public Work's staff about abandoning �c4h from the easement to alleviate the encroachment. Mr. Laster explained in his memo that the proposed easement has been r'irrl to various utility companies for their response before ryfi.ng the easement abandonment documentation. >;;ewart of 1133 Airline took the Oath of Truth and explained to i:�oard about submitting all the necessary paperwork for the orit abandonment. He noted that the owners are planning on _,o a new room over the garage which will not further encroach the yard. Patti Bass seconded. the motion which prevailed by following vote: Ayes: Giffin, Thompson, Bass, Dorety, Quinn Nays: None Absent: Truitt, Howell' dk John Dorety then made a motion to grant a variance to Grapev; Zoning Ordinance 82 -73, Section 15.G.3, six foot side Yom'. ` I� requirements, allowing a .2 foot variance, subject to City Councit p Ik; approval to abandon the existing easement. Patti Bass seconded motion which prevailed by the following voter Ayes: Giffin, Thompson, Bass, Dorety, Quinn' Nays: None Absent: Truitt, Howell NEW BUSINESS` a, F BZA90 -42, RALPH B. PUTNAM The item of new business for the Board of Zoning Adjustment consider was BZA 90 -42, submitted by Ralph B. Putnam who requesting a variance from Grapevine Zoning Ordinance 82 -73, Sect 15.G.1 which requires a thirty foot front yard setback to allow 8.3 foot variance. The property is located at 3635 Oakwood Dri Lot 5, Block 1, Grapevine Lake Estates. Mr. Ralph Putnam, applicant, took the Oath of Truth and explai that the home was built more than 25 years ago and he is wanting remodel and bring the home up to building code standards. With no one else to speak either for or against the request, Ger Thompson made a motion to close the public hearing. Patti B seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Giffin, Thompson, Bass, Dorety, Quinn Nays: None Absent: Truitt, Howell Andrew Quinn made a motion that a special condition exist and the special condition was that the house was existing.
