FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Recreation Facilities Maintenance budget for a total amount not to exceed $40,000. BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the removal and replacement of four backstop net poles located on two baseball fields at the Oak Grove Baseball Complex. These poles were damaged by the recent snow storm and freezing temperatures and therefore are needing to be removed and replaced to allow games and practices to safely resume at these fields. This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. An emergency purchase order was issued to America's Nationwide Netting, Inc. for the repair, purchase and replacement of safety netting and poles at Oak Grove Park on February 19, 2021. The City's Risk Management department has submitted an insurance claim for this project to Travelers, and if approved, the City would receive the full $40,000 for removal and replacement. Staff recommends approval. CS/LW
