Motion and second unanimously carried to install 9 new
street lights instead of 4 as voted at last regular meeting.
Mr. Millican and Mr. Lipscomb to select the places for instal
ation. I
The attached resolution leasing city lot to the American
legion was unanimously adopted and approved. Motion by Alder ml
Willhoite, seconded by Alderman Yancey. The resolution to be
signed by the Mayor and City Secretary.
Upon motion duly seconded Oris L. Williams was appointed
City Secretary effective on or before June lst, 1946 at a
salary of $U5.00 per month. Fie term of office being for the
term of the present city council which ends May lett 1947.
Motion and second unanimously carried to allow C. W. GoadP
J.F. Willingham, R. A. Starnes and J. IT. Graham to tie on to the
city water and sewer lines. All expense to be borne by themV
except the City to furnish meter when same is avai lable.
I Petition from citizens of the City requesting water and sewer
connections and sewer lines for that portion of the -city not already
served was read and filed for further action later. The request'being
for the portion of the city South of the Cotton Belt 'Railroad and
College Heights addition to the City. Petition signed by some 81
citizens.
There being no further business motion carried to adjourn.
