NEW BUSINESS
The first item for the Board's consideration was application BZA 84-01
submitted by Mr. Gary Laney.
The request was for a variance for frontage shown as 44.26 feet, and the
City Ordinance requires 65 feet of frontage. In order for plat
consideration by the Council and Planning and Zoning Cc fission, the
variance would first need to be granted.
Mr. Laney failed to appear to respond to questions from the Board. Mr.
Shaw expressed opposition to the frontage requested and suggested there
would be a simpler solution. Mr. Hardy added that the s ',division was
odd-shaped.
The plat would divide a tract of land into two lots, both to be gifts to
Mr. Laney and a sister, and the discussion led to a general consensus of
those present that there would be adequate enough land to divide it
differently if the parties involved would agree.
The secretary reported that correspondence had been received relative
to the subject case, and there being no further discussion, Member Doug
Lamb made a motion to table the variance request, and Garry Tischler
seconded the motion which prevailed by the following vote,
Ayes: Deavers, Lamb and Tischler
Nays: Waldrip
Absent: Hall and Troy & Thompson
