HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-01-24The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Grapevine, Texas met in a workshop session Thursday, January 24, 1985, at 7:00 P.M. in the Conference Room, Rom 204, of the Police-Library Building, 307 West Dallas Road, with the following members of the Planning and Zoning Commission, ordinance Map -Up Committee present, to wit: Sharron Spencer Chairman Ron Cook Vice Chairman Gerald Norman Member Harlen Joyce Member with the following City Staff, to wit: H.T. (Tommy) Hardy Director of Community Development Joy Carroll Planning Aide Sue Martinez Secretary Chairman Spencer declared that the meting was in session and stated the procedures and purposes of the meeting. The Committee reviewed and made recommendations for amendments to the following draft copy sections of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance. Discussion of this section was relative to percentages of maximum impervious area and minimum. open space. Item F, Density Requirements - a recommendation was made to change number 5, Maximum. Impervious Area, from 80 percent (800) to 60 percent (600). NMI I Ing L-.11A Li Discussion of this section was relative to Item A, Permitted Uses, Number 1, this being already covered under the "CN" Neighborhood Commercial and "CC" Community Commercial Districts. It was the desire of the "OMUC" Committee members to eliminate Section 23. It was noted that if "LB" Limited Business is kept, then non-conforming uses will increase. Following discussion of the "LB" District, it was decided to eliminate the section. Then it was discussed to go ahead and make amendments to the "LB" District in case the Council decides to adopt that section. Item A, Permitted Uses, Number 1, it was suggested to eliminate the following retail sales uses: art, appliances, antiques, garden supply, hardware, music, pet, variety, wearing apparel and similar uses. It was suggested also to eliminate Numbers 3 through 6 from Item A. Number 7 was recommended to be put under Conditional Uses. Item B, Accessory Uses, Number 1, (6) feet was changed to (8) feet. Number 4, (30) feet was changed to (50) feet. Item D, Limitation On Uses, Number 2, (10,000) square feet was changed to (2,500) square feet. Item G, Area Regulations, Number 5, Rear Yard Depth was changed from (10) feet to (25) feet. Item I, Height, insert the words .(I) storms not to exceed before the words twenty-five (25) feet. 1-5,&Z Minutes January 24, 1985 Page 2 Item A, Permitted Uses, Number 1, the words in enclosed building were added and it was suggested to move Number 1 to a Conditional Use. Number 8, it was suggested to change (7) feet to (8) feet. Number 12 was amended to take the wording New automotive parts and accessories, sales and installation, and move to N 13. Then it was suggested to change (7) feet to (8) feet. Number 13, the word cards should be corrected to read cars. Number 20, the words Business services and are to be deleted. Number 23, the words in enclosed building were to be added. Numbers 27 and 29 are to be deleted. Number 33, was suggested to be moved to either "CC" or "LI'l District. Item B, Accessory Uses, Number 3, (30) feet is to be changed to (50) feet. Number 5, (6) feet is being changed to (8) feet. Item I, Height, Number 1, (30) feet is being changed to (50) feet. Item M, Design Requirements, Number 6 was added which states: All outside P&Z Minutes January 24, 1985 Page 3 sales and/or outside display areas shall be surfaced in accordance with Section Number and storage areas shall be screened with an 8-foot high screening fence. ADJOUP-NMENT Then there being no further review or reccmended amendments to the sections of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, the meting was considered adjourned for the evening.
