HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-07-26CITY OF GRAPEVINE X COUNTY OF TARRANT X STATE OF TEXAS X After a public hearing before the City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission on July 26, 1977 in the City Council chambers at 7:30 P.M., the Planning and Zoning Commission reconvened in an open meeting in the conference room with the following members present: Ted Ware Chairman Joe Kennedy Member Mike Davis Member Harlen Joyce Member Bill Crabtree Member McClelland Addition Section 2 Mr. Leon Levitt, engineer for the owners, presented a preliminary and final plat McClelland Section 2, a replat of a town house subdivision. Mike Davis made a motion to approve the plat as presented. The motion was seconded by Harlen Joyce. Ayes: Ware, Kennedy, Davis, Joyce, Crabtree Nays: None Z77-16 "R-3" and "R-2" to "R-1" Joe Wright Following a brief discussion Mike Davis made a motion to approve the change as requested. The motion was seconded by Joe Kennedy. Ayes: Ware, Kennedy, Davis, Joyce, Crabtree Nays: None Z77-17 11C-2" to "SP -On premises consumption of alcoholic beverages" Hugh Waite Mr. Waite reviewed the presentation he made in the public hearing. A discussion of the proposed parking lot entrances and exits followed. Harlen Joyce made a motion to approve the application. The motion was seconded by Joe Kennedy. Ayes: Joyce, Kennedy, Ware Nays: Crabtree, Davis Z77-18 "SP -On premises consumption of alcoholic beverages" Dr_._ P. E. Whittlesey Mr. Clyde Stinson answered several questions concerning the operation of the dude ranch and the various activities hold at the rodeo arena. Mike Davis made a motion to approve the application. The motion was seconded by Bill Crabtree. Ayes: Davis, Crabtree, Ware Nays: Joyce, Kennedy Mike Davis then made a motion to adjourn. Lipscomb Chairman, Ted Ware CITY OF GRAPEVINE X COUNTY OF TARRANT X STATE OF TEXAS X After a public hearing before the City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission of September 27, 1977 in the City Council Chambers at 7:30 P.M., the Planning and Zoning Commission reconvened in an open meeting in the conference room with the following members present: Ted Ware Chairman Joe Kennedy Member Jerry Burgess Member Harlen Joyce Member Bob Stewart Member The following posted agenda tiems were considered: Zoning Change Application Z77-24 - Sandra Bass Chairman Ware summarized the application and stated that he felt that mini warehouses would be an excellent use and probably would be approved by the City Council if restricted to that use. Jerry Burgess requested a review of uses permitted it "Il-Light Industrial" zoning. Building Official Joe Lipscomb gave an explanition of the uses. The applicant, Sandra Bass stated that she was planning to use the front portion of the building as an office and the rear as mini warehouses. Following a brief discussion Harlen Joyce made a motion to approve "SP-specific use for mini warehouses" and all other uses permitted in "C-2 Community Business". The motion was seconded by Joe Kennedy. Ayes: Ware, Kennedy, Burgess, Joyce and Stewart Nays: None Zoning Change Application Z77-25 - Jean Wickman Chairman Ware reviewed the application. Joe Kennedy made a motion to approve the application as requested. The motion was seconded by Bob Stewart. Ayes: Ware, Kennedy, Burgess, Joyce and Stewart Nays: None Zoning Change Application Z77-26 - Esslinger and Rowbothan Chairman Ware reviewed the application. Harlen Joyce stated that he could understand the objections to the application and had hoped for a better use, but that the proposed use would be an improvement in the area. Chairman Ware asked if screening sould be required by the Zoning Ordinance. Joe Lipscomb answered that the regulations would not require screening since the adjoining property was a public use, the Senior Citizen Center rather than a private residence. Harlen Joyce made a motion to approve the application with a screen- ing fence on the west side. Jerry Burgess seconded the motion. Ayes: Joyce, Burgess and Ware Nays: Kennedy and Stewart Zoning Change Application Z77-27 - Holley and Hobratsch Harlen Joyce asked where construction on the retail center would begin. Ery Holley stated that present plans were to begin on the south end of the property. Bob Stewart commented that it was the obvious zoning. Bob Stewart then made a motion to approve the application as requested. The motion was seconded by Harlen Joyce. Page 2 Ayes: Ware, Joyce, Stewart, Burgess and Kennedy Nays: None Final Plat of the Arbor - Elershire Hiram Elershire presented the final plat of the proposed apartment project. He explained that he proposed 1.8 parking spaces per unit, the building would be 2 story masonry and wood. He then pointed out a sewer easement that he proposed would be conditional upon construction of a sewer line during construction of the apartments. Bob Stewart made a motion to approve the plat.
