HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-04-15STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE X The Planning & zoning Commission of the City of Grapevine, Texas, convened in regular meeting on this the 15th day of April, 1975, with the following members present, to-wit: Ted Ware Harlen Joyce Joe Kennedy Jerry Jordan Conrad Heede Don Stiles The first order of business was to 25th meeting. Member Conrad Heede of the minutes and approve them as seconded the motion and the motion Ayes: Ware, Joyce, Kennedy, Jo Noes: None Commissioner Vice - Commissioner Member Member Member Member consider the minutes of the March made a motion to waive the reading presented. Member Don Stiles prevailed by the following vote: rdan, Heede, Stiles The next order of business was for the Planning & Zoning Commission to consider zoning application no. Z-75-6, Bill E. Lindsey requesting a zoning change from R-1 to "R-3" multi-family district on a tract of land described as being Lot 12, Block 3, of the J. J. Daniel Survey to the City of Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas. The property is generally described as being in the Northwest corner of the intersection of Airline and Vine Streets. Member Don Stiles stated that he felt that multi- family zoning be zoned in the area north of Vine Street and single-family zoning south of Vine Street. There was then a discussion about block zoning in this particular area of the City. Following this discussion Member Joe Kennedy made a motion to grant the application as requested. Member Jerry Jordan seconded the motion and the motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Ware, Kennedy, Jordan, Heede, Stiles Noes: Joyce The next order of business was for the Planning & Zoning Commission to consider zoning application no. Z-75-7, Leon Zetley requesting a zoning change from SP Specific Use Permit for townhouses to "R-3" multi-family use District or in the alternative Specific Use Permit for multi-family use, on a tract of land described as being Blocks A, B, and a portion of Block C of the Shorewood Park Addition to the City of Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas. The property is generally described as being on the East side of Hood Lane adjoining Grapevine Lake property. There was a lengthy discussion about R-3 usage and density. There was also a discus- sion of townhouses and their usage and what constitutes difference between leased townhouses and low density apartments. Following the discussion member Don Stiles made a motion to disapprove application no. Z-75-7 as requested. Member Harlen Joyce seconded the motion. There then followed a discussion of the alternative uses that were requested in the application which would allow the Planning & Zoning Commission to add restrictions to R-3 zoning. Member Don Stiles withdrew his motion and Member Harlen Joyce withdrew the second to the motion. member Conrad Heede then made a motion to table any action on this application until April 29, 1975; at which time the Planning & Zoning Commission would consider additional information supplied by the applicant. Member Harlen Joyce seconded the motion and the motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Ware, Joyce, Kennedy, Jordan, Heede,. Stiles Noes: None There being no further business, Member Conrad Heede made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Member Don Stiles seconded the motion and all present voted aye.
