HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-05-28STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY OF GRAPEVINE jj The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Grapevine, Texas, convened in regular meeting at 8.00 p.m., on this the 28th day of May, 1974, with the following members present, to-wit: Ted Ware Chairman Jerry Jordan Member Joe Kennedy Member Harlen Joyce Member Don Stiles Member constituting a quorum, with, Jim Hancock Acting Secretary Chairman Ted Ware called the meeting to order stating that the the Committee was to consider applications that were discussed in the prior meeting with the City Council in the Public Hearing. Zoning application No. Z-74-7 was to be considered first. The applicant was Don T. Gerschick, requesting a rezoning of Lot 3, Blk. 2, and adjacent alley as recofded in Volume 5636, Page 700 D.R.T.C., located in the W.C. Lucas Addition, from "R-2" to "C-2'? Community Business. There was no discussion and member Joe Kennedy made a motion to grant the zoning as requested. Member Harlen Joyce seconded the motion and the motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Ware, Stiles, Kennedy, Joyce, Jordan Noes: None The next application was Z-74-8. The applicant was Metzger Dairies Inc. dba Mr. M Food Store #141 located at 1211 Hwy 121. The request was for a zoning change from "C-2" to "SP" Specific Use Permit District for the sale of alcoholic beverages for off- premise consumption only. The building is erected. There was some discussion as to the sale of alcoholic beverages leading to consumption of these beverages on the school property or athletic events. Member Jordan moved to grant the zoning as requested. Member Stiles seconded the motion and the motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Ware, Stiles, Kennedy, Joyce, Jordan Noes: None The final zoning application to be considered was Z-74-9. The applicant was Mr. Terry ry Trippet, Trustee. The location was the Abstract SIB of the A. Foster Survey. Zoning was requested from 11R-111 to ?'1-2?1 Heavy Industrial. Member Stiles moved to grant the zoning as requested only on "I-1" Light Industrial. Member Joyce seconded the motion and the motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Ware, Stiles, Kennedy, Joyce, Jordan Noes: None Member Don Stiles suggested that the Planning 9 Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council that they review the uses in the "I-1" and "1-2" zoning and that some of the uses be eliminated and placed under the "SP" Specific Use Permit Dis1trict. There being no further business, Member Jordan moved to adjourn the meeting. Member Kennedy seconded the motion, all present voted aye and the meeting was adjourned.
