SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION TO CONTRACT FOR IT
PROJECT ENGAGEMENT FOR THE NEW PUBLIC SAFETY
BUILDING
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval of a resolution to contract for IT project engagement
fort new public safety building with Acuity-Holdings, Inc. through the U.S. General
Services Administration (GSA) Cooperative Purchasing Program.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding fortis contract is currently available in account 177-48840-019-209-PSDES
(Capital Project ® General Facilities/Buildings/Public Safety Bldg Design) for an amount
not to exceed $95,370.00.
BACKGROUND:
This contract will be made in accordance with the GSA Cooperative Purchasing Program
as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing
Program and Section 211 oft E-Government Act of 2002 and Public Law 110-248,
Local Preparedness Acquisition Act.
Bids were taken by GSA and a contract was awarded to Acuity-Holdings, Inc. under
GSA Schedule 70 for IT equipment, software and services. The IT staff and Purchasing
reviewed the contract for specification compliance and pricing and determined that the
contract would provide the best service and pricing for meeting the needs oft City.
This technology consulting services contract forte new public safety building includes
formulating design specifications, writing RFPs for equipment and installation, actual
work inspections, data center move planning and move assistance to the new facility.
Acuity-Holdings consultants will be the City's agent to assure that from a technology
perspective, the new public safety building will be designed to handle our technical
needs fort a life of the building.
Staff recommends approval.
