SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR
QUOTE FOR TWO, 10-INCH CHECK VALVES FOR THE HILTON LIFT
STATION
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for
quote for two, 10-inch check valves for the Hilton Lift Station from Valve &
Equipment Consultants for the Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Enterprise Utility Fund for an amount not to
exceed $37,752.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is necessary to replace two, 25-year-old check valves for
the Hilton lift station. These valves are beyond their useful life and must
be replaced.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Valve &
Equipment Consultants submitted the lowest quote meeting
specifications.
Valve & Equipment Consultants $37,752.
Precision Pump Systems $39,533.
Dezurik $45,780.
Staff recommends approval.
