NEW BUSINESS
BBA92 -06 MR. & MRS. RALPH PUTNAM
The case for the Building Board of Appeals to consider was BBA92 -06, submitted by Mr. &
Mrs. Ralph Putnam who is requesting a variance to Grapevine's Code of Ordinances Chapter
7, Article IV, 7- 127(b), front yard fence constructed in the established front yard shall not
exceed three (3) feet in height with 50% visibility. The applicant is requesting a wooded privacy
fence for a varied height of nine (9) feet to six (6) feet to four (4) feet from the garage to the
property line. The construction of the fence has limited visibility of ten (10 %) per cent when
viewed at less than right angles of the fence. This would exceed the City's standards by
requiring a variance of six (6) feet for the first section, a three (3) foot variance for the second
section and a one (1) foot variance for the third section of fence closest to the street and a
reduction of forty (40 %) per cent of the required visibility. The variance is for the property
located at 3635 Oakwood Drive
Greg Wheeler, Building Official explained the case and Staff's recommendation for approval.

Attorney. Hopefully by the next meeting the building will be demolished. If not we will know
where it stands legally by the next meeting. Greg also invited the Board and City Council to the
International Conference of Building Officials Annual Business Meeting to be held in Dallas,
Texas in September. He will be able to get passes for any interested parties.
