(NAFECO) for the Fire Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Fire Department) for an amount not to exceed $40,922. BACKGROUND: This purchase is to provide each operational member a lightweight rescue/wildland coat to wear during non-structural firefighting operations. These coats will reduce heat stress on our members and save wear and tear on the structural coats, which cost substantially more to repair and replace. It will also eliminate the need to keep and replace additional sets of wildland firefighting coats. This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement with The National Purchasing Partners (NPPGov) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to NAFECO. The Fire and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the City. Staff recommends approval. is/LW
