A member of the public may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board regarding an item on the agenda either before or during the Board's consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen Comments. Kevin Mitchell, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met May 20, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in Vintage Hall at The Vine Arts and Events Center, 225 W. Worth Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to-wit: MEMBERS LIAISONS Morgan Nichols Paul Slechta — City Council Lavon Light Becky St. john — GCISD Board Liaison Terry Musar Roy Robertson Ray Harris ABSENT Mark Assaad Lina Grace Assaad — GCISD Student Liaison Joe Luccioni Christian Ross Dana Gibson Constituting a quorum with the following members of City staff: Kevin Mitchell, Director Chris Smith, Deputy Director Teresa Hiner, Administrative Manager Christian Ross called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. A moment of silence was observed A royal of Minutes A motion was made to approve the April 15, 2021 meeting minutes. Motion: Assaad Second: Luccioni Ayes: Nichols, Musar, Robertson, Harris, Ross, Light, Luccioni, Assaad, Gibson Nays: None Absent: None Approved: 9-0 Citizen Comments • Noe Gutierrez 984 Fall Creek, Grapevine, TX Spoke in reference to Silver Lake North HOA and possible Vineyard Campground expansion. • Gene Golightly 2846 Southridge Dr., Grapevine, TX Spoke in reference to age limit policies at The REC. 1 New Business • Adopt-An-Area o A packet containing 2 Adopt-An-Area Agreements was prepared and sent to the board for review prior to the board meeting. There was a brief review and any questions or clarifications were addressed. A motion was made to approve the agreements. Grapevine High School and Colleyville High School will hold graduation at the stadium. Campuses have resumed end of the year events such as field days and celebrations. The district is continuing the resurfacing of some middle school tracks. Spring sports went well with lots of achievements. Prom was a huge success. It was estimated that prom contributed about $15k to local economy — with students pairing up into groups and choosing different restaurants to dine out prior to prom. Park update: • Kevin Mitchell, Director of Parks and Recreation, gave an update. Next month's board meeting will be held on June 17 at 6pm on-site at Panhandle Park, 2801 Panhandle Drive. This will be a community input meeting, and we will begin posting signs and social media posts inviting the community to join. The community will have the opportunity to view park options, ask questions, and vote on their preferred playground amenities.
