408 Pay Corrections
The City of Grapevine takes all reasonable steps to assure that employees are paid
the correct amount in each paycheck and that employees are paid promptly on the
scheduled payday. It is the City’s policy to comply with the salary basis requirements
of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Therefore, supervisory employees are
prohibited from making any improper deductions from the salaries of exempt
employees. Employees should be aware of this policy and that the City does not
allow deductions that violate the FLSA.
.01 If an error should occur in the amount of pay or an improper deduction is made,
employees should notify Payroll as soon as possible.
.02 When underpayment or an improper deduction is verified, it will be corrected not later
than the next regular paycheck.
.03 Overpayments will be corrected as soon as practical through a repayment schedule
arranged by the Finance Department so as not to place an undue burden on the
employee.
.04 Employees may utilize the grievance procedures outlined in the Human Resources
Manual policy #804 if an error or improper deduction is not corrected to their
satisfaction.
