HomeMy WebLinkAbout0617 Time off to Vote101 617 Time off to Vote The City encourages all employees to fulfill their civic responsibilities by voting in elections. However, all employees should make every effort to vote outside normal working hours. In those cases where an employee does not have at least two consecutive hours outside of working hours within which to vote, the employee will be allowed to take up to two (2) hours off with pay for this purpose. To receive time off for voting, the employee must advise their supervisor that the employee will need time off to vote, in writing, at least two (2) days before Election Day so that necessary time off may be scheduled at the beginning or end of the work period, whichever provides the least disruption to the normal work schedule. The supervisor must send a copy of this request to Payroll for timekeeping records. No action will be taken against any employee for requesting or taking time off in advance as provided for in this policy. Effective 06/16/2021
