HomeMy WebLinkAbout0804 Grievance Procedures119 804 Grievance Procedures The City of Grapevine provides a grievance procedure to employees who are dissatisfied with specific working conditions, pay disputes or who believe they have been subjected to unfair treatment. .01 Employees are encouraged to take any job-related complaints or problems to their immediate supervisor for discussion. .02 If the grievance involves their immediate supervisor or if they are dissatisfied with the outcome of the discussion, the employee may go to the next level of supervision within the department's chain of command. .03 The employee may, after giving written notice to the immediate supervisor for job- related or other issues (or in grievances which involve their immediate supervisor, to the next level of supervision within the department’s chain of command) go directly to the Department Head or Human Resources if the grievance is felt to be of serious enough nature. .04 Each supervisor and manager involved in the grievance procedures will take all necessary steps to ensure that the grievance will be processed timely in an objective and confidential manner and that no retaliation will be made against the employee. .05 Each supervisor and manager involved will put their decisions in writing and provide copies confidentially to their supervisor(s) and the employee who initiated the grievance procedure. .06 While the City Manager maintains an open door policy, he encourages employees to follow the various procedures made available to them to resolve grievances.
