901 Employee Safety
.01 Safety Policy Statement
It is the practice of the City of Grapevine to create a safe working environment; this
effort will be actively made utilizing any and all reasonable means, methods or
controls. The purpose of our safety program is to reduce incidents/accidents and
to minimize injury. Cooperation of employees and management in observing this
safety policy will provide safe working conditions, minimize incidents/accidents and
will be a mutual advantage for all concerned. Each and every employee must
make safety and risk management paramount in their daily efforts to preserve the
vitality of their own well-being, as well as the City’s.
.02 General Safety
The management of the City of Grapevine regards the safety of every employee
to be of great value and importance. Every effort must be taken to protect
employees by training in proper procedures and safety rules. Employees must
embrace the concept of proper procedures as a matter of minimum acceptable
behavior, and apply safety as a personal responsibility. The City of Grapevine
insists that all rules and regulations affecting the safety of any and all operations
be complied with. All locations must have, update and maintain adequate safety
features that may be necessary for safe operations. All incidents and accidents
must be reported with no exceptions. Deviation from accepted practices, principles
and methods of operation jeopardizing the safety of employees, clients, or the
general public will not be condoned. Immediate accident/incident reporting is
unconditional.
.03 Employee Safety
It is the policy of the City of Grapevine to provide a safe and healthful work
environment for all employees. It is expected that all employees will comply with
all safety and health requirements whether established by management or by
federal, state, or local authorities.
