Recreation Advisory Board under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item
by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form with the staff. A member of the
public may address the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board regarding an item on
the agenda either before or during the Board's consideration of the item, upon
being recognized by the Chairman or upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation
Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Parks &
Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking action during Citizen
Comments.

The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met July 15, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at The Vine
Arts & Events Center located at 225 West Worth Street, Grapevine, Texas with the following
members present, to-wit:

Christian Ross called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made to approve the June 17, 2021 meeting minutes.

No Citizen Comments.
New Business
• Consider approval of park amenities for Panhandle Park
o Clean asbestos report
o Will start construction soon
o Goal is to complete the park development by Spring 2022
A motion was made to approve the park amenities at Panhandle Park.

• Social Media Contest
o Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was presented entries from the Grapevine Parks
and Recreation Dog Photo Contest to vote on. Three winners were selected.
GCISD Student Liaison (position is currents vacant)
GCISD Report - The district closed the week of July 4. School starts August 18. Hiring has been very
tight for educators as educators are hard to find. The parking lot at the admin building is being
repaired along with the bus barn area and fieldhouse.
Parks and Recreation Update
• Vineyards Campground is now open at 100%.
• Katie's Woods — with the several city departments and personnel, the issue of rogue parking
on the side of the road has been addressed. Lakeview Park is next for update; Meadowmere
Park will be addressed after Lakeview Park
• 4t" of July celebration and planning went perfect, based on the crowds and safety.
• Adding wood fiber to playgrounds throughout the park system.
• Pools are fully staffed and are staying very busy.
• Camps are going well both at The REC and at Dove Creek Day Camp.
• World Series events took place at Oak Grove Complexes over a period of 2-weeks. The facility
was packed and an economic impact study was performed during this time.
