4. OLD BUSINESS
Membership Report - Janet Perkins
Secretary Perkins reported a total of 194 active memberships to date with donations of $200 in
memory bricks for Weems Alley.
Sponsorship Report — Balla Wright
Treasurer Balla Wright reported a total of $21,500 in sponsorships. Farm Manager Cody Jolliff
reported working with Volleman's Dairy located in Gustine, (Comanche County) Texas as perhaps a
Nash Farm sponsor or mission partner. He said their products are sold in local grocers and they also
have home delivery service for dairy, bacon, cheese and bread.
Nash Farm Report — Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield
Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield reported the June First Friday "Commerce on the Grape Vine Prairie"
program was attended by 154 participants; Dairy Day was attended by 400: the Hat Making
Workshop had seven students; and 14 groups visited for educational tours with a total attendance of
2,420 visitors to the Farm in June. Farm Manager Jolliff told the board this was the largest June
attendance in Nash Farm history.
Chairman Ratliff thanked Cody saying the events were extremely organized and commended all who
worked these; Treasurer Wright noted the turnout for the Farmhouse tours.
5. NEW BUSINESS
Nash Farm 2021 Events — Cody Jolliff
Farm Manage Cody Jolliff said the Barn Dance on Friday night, then the Fall Round -UP! and the
Harvest Moon Dinner would go back to normal procedures pre -pandemic to get back to being more
social, saying people were ready for more. The Butterfly Flutterby is in discussion for location in the
Botanical Gardens or Peace Plaza.
The Tin Shop and the Bragg House had water damage from the February ice storm, repairs are
nearing completion; the International Sister City Programs Museum had new air conditioning installed
today to ready for dedication on September 15-16, 2021.
The Nash Farm agriculture committee will meet on the second Thursday of each month beginning
August 12, 2021 in the Farmhouse; at this time the committee includes Melva Stanfield as Committee
Chair, Curtis Ratliff, Martin Dinglemanse and Tom Halbut.
DISTRIBUTION OF LIAISON REPORTS
Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Report — Paul W. McCallum
Heritage Preservation Programs (HPP) Manager David Klempin gave the CVB report as P.W. and
our marketing team were hosting the first of three FY22 Marketing Committee Workshops with our
hoteliers, attractions and retailers. HPP Manager Klempin read Executive Director Paul W.
McCallum's report to the Foundation Advisory Board saying the Summertime in Grapevine promotion
2 GHF July 21, 2021

is progressing very successfully. Focus is on the "Near -cation" and "Stay -cations", the "Near -cation" is
visitors from 50 — to 250 miles and the "Stay -cation" are those from within 50 miles; both markets are
responding extremely well for family vacations. The resorts, Gaylord Texan and Great Wolf Lodge,
are in the 80s percentile for occupancy. The full service and select service hotels are bumping close
to 70 percent, while rates remain strong across all hotels.
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad, Palace Arts Center, Nash Farm and the Historic District are all
seeing pre -pandemic numbers. Grapevine Mills is recording the highest volume sales ever
experienced and attribute much of it to the "Near -cation" market. Restaurant and retail sales are very
strong across most sectors; convention group sales booking pace is now picking -up quickly; but
business travel has not yet returned.
The GrapeFest® Steering Committee is working very hard to bring a full pre -pandemic GrapeFest
festival to our patrons. Paper coupons will be used as in all previous GrapeFests. Gate admissions
will be $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.
Planning for a very robust Christmas Capital of Texas is well underway. All Live performances return
to normal capacity and the North Pole Express® (NPX) will operate at 100 percent capacity. NPX
tickets will go on sale September 28, 2021.
