HomeMy WebLinkAboutFirearms SalesJuly 21, 2021 Clay Shipe 3501 Marsh Lane Grapevine, TX 76051 Mr. Shipe, This is in response to your inquiry regarding a home occupation in Grapevine. Please note that Section 12 of the Grapevine Zoning Ordinance defines and describes home occupations. This section is designed to be performance based, and is intended to keep residential neighborhoods from being overwhelmed with excessive noise, traffic, and anything else that would adversely affect the residential nature of the area. I do not feel that internet sales violate the intent of the ordinance, provided the volume of vehicles used for shipping and receiving the merchandise does not compromise the residential integrity of the neighborhood. Furthermore, I do not think that firearms transfers from your home to friends and family would be likely to generate complaints, again, as long as the volume of traffic does not exceed what one would expect to be reasonable in a residential neighborhood. Any use of a residence must also comply with any other applicable ordinance, law, rule, or regulation. Therefore, it is incumbent upon you to ensure that the totality of the proposed use is legally compliant. The scope of the City's verification in this letter concerns zoning issues only.
