HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 13 - Main Power Feed BreakerMEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: AUGUST 3, 2021 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE EMERGENCY PURCHASE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF MAIN BREAKER FOR THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approving and ratifying the emergency purchase repair and replacement of the main power feed breaker for the Water Treatment Plant from Humphrey & Associates, Inc. for the Public Works Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund for a total amount not to exceed $16,014. BACKGROUND: This is for the purchase and installation of the main power feed breaker for the Water Treatment Plant. The existing breaker failed inspection and required replacement. This breaker is necessary to power the Water Treatment Plant and needed to be replaced in order to maintain continuous operations. This purchase was made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. An emergency purchase order was issued to Humphrey & Associates, Inc. for the repair at the Water Treatment Plant on July 23, 2021. Staff recommends approval. JH/LW
