The Grapevine Heritage Foundation (GHF) held their regular scheduled monthly meeting at 5:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the 2nd Floor Grand Hall of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors
Bureau, 636 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Ratliff welcomed all and called the meeting to order at 5 p.m.
2. CITIZEN COMMENTS
There were no citizen comments registered.
Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Grapevine Heritage Foundation under
Citizen Comments by completing a Citizen Appearance Request form. In accordance with the Texas Open
Meetings Act, the Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or taking any action during Citizen Comments.
3. OATH OF OFFICE
The Oath of Office was administered to reappointed Foundation members Franks, Jensen, Fray, and
Nelson who swore to continue faithfully execute their duties to the Foundation.

Chairman Ratliff thanked Cody for his report, he asked for any comments; there were none. He stated
the next regular meeting was scheduled for September 15, with GrapeFest beginning on the 16t" it
could be a challenge with Foundation board members having assignments and their commitments
during the festival. All agreed it would be wise to not meet for the September 15 meeting with the
grounds being fenced and set-up for the next morning.
DISTRIBUTION OF LIAISON REPORTS
City Council Liaison Update — Council Member Duff O'Dell
Council Liaison Duff O'Dell reported the Grapevine Historical Society (GHS) Museum has opened for
Friday, Saturday and Sundays with limited days and hours as they are lacking docents due to
accidents and COVID warnings; attendance has been great. They have completed the project of
cleaning the Torian Cabin, she thanked Cody Jolliff for getting the covering on the back walls, aiding
in rotating the exhibit in front; she noted Janis Roberson was doing a great job.
The GHS September 20, 2021 Welcome Back meeting will feature a presentation on the Peace Circle
the history and the artists comments and insights. The GHS Lifetime Member Awards will be Bill and
Mae Pearl Powers and in recognition of Gayle Hall's achievements.
Council activity is busy with new businesses with Matt Rose of BNSF and Delaney Vineyards; new
restaurant and concept coming as Chicken & Pickle Ball an eatery but also pickle ball courts inside
and outside; Velvet Taco and California based Rock & Brews were approved for development.
Council Liaison O'Dell and Treasurer Wright updated the board on the Rotary School Supplies, a
$35,000 project. Both found the sorting and handing out the supplies a very emotional and very
happy, saying every parent said "thank you so much, receiving the supplies was a huge help".
Secretary Perkins wanted to thank the Society for the wonderful On the Vine newsletter, she
thoroughly enjoyed the publication. Council Liaison O'Dell credited Dr. John Boyd; Treasurer Wright
added, Dr. Boyd also does tours of the Grapevine Cemetery.
Chairman Ratliff thanked Council Liaison O'Dell for updating the board. It was openly discussed to
think about the Annual Meeting concept, National Trust is the first week of November, Texas
Independence Day on Peace Plaza, November 11t" is Veteran's Day.
ADJOURNMENT
Sue Franks, seconded by Courtney Fray, made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 6 p.m.
The motion prevailed by the following vote:

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Melva Stanfield made the motion to accept the minutes as written from the July 21, 2021 regular
meeting. Becky Hummer seconded the motion, which prevailed in the following vote:
Ayes: 9 (Ratliff, Stanfield, Wright, Perkins, Franks, Fray, Hummer, Jensen and Nelson)
Nays: 0 None
Absent: 0 None
4. OLD BUSINESS
Membership Report - Janet Perkins
The membership was reported as 193 active memberships to date with donations of $231 for a
memory brick and donations.
Sponsorship Report — Balla Wright
Treasurer Balla Wright reported all agreements had been fulfilled, achieving their goal total of
$21,500 in sponsorships.
Nash Farm Report — Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield
Vice Chairman Melva Stanfield reported the August First Friday program was attended by 119
participants; the Ice Cream Social brought out 601 guests: eight school groups had toured with a total
of 198 students.
Vice Chair Melva Stanfield announced they were bringing back the Nash Farm Committee, the first
meeting would be at Nash Farm on Thursday, August 12. 2021 at 8:30 a.m. and regularly meet on
the second Thursday of each month. The agendas would address current needs to update
programming, the rotation of Farm experiences and revisit to identify the Strategic Plan for the Farm.
5. NEW BUSINESS
Nash Farm 2021 Events — Cody Jolliff
Farm Manager Cody Jolliff reported the Italian CarFestTM (ICF) posters for September 11, 2021 were
great and up all over town; a special class award will honor Bob Dezzani for the many years he had
dedicated in building the car club. The Peace Circle featuring the Treaty of Peace and Friendship
dedication will be on September 18, beginning with an 11 a.m. luncheon; Indian representatives for
each tribe will attend and participate in the dedication.
The Harvest Moon Supper ($75) on October 1, 2021 will return to normal (pre -pandemic) procedures
as folks are ready to get back to being more social. October 15, 2021 is the Barn Dance on Friday
night, then the Fall Round -UP! the following morning at 10 a.m. — 2 p.m. The Butterfly Flutterby is in
discussion for location perhaps in the Botanical Gardens or Peace Plaza.
