Cc STEM # /& MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: DECEMBER 18, 2012 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF BID 394 -2013 REPLACEMENT OF CABINETS, SINKS AND COUNTERS RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of RFB 394 -2013 for the replacement of cabinets, sinks and counters at the Wastewater Treatment Plant lab from Centauri DMS, Inc. FUNDING SOURCE: Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 200- 43370 -534 -0 (Utility PCMF) for the amount of $39,405.00. BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement was posted in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on October 11 and 18, 2012. The bid was opened publicly on November 7, 2012. Through the City's eBid system, 361 vendors were invited to bid. (See attached bid tabulation). Four bids were submitted. Of the bids received, Centauri DMS, Inc. was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting specifications. This Wastewater Treatment Plant Division operates a laboratory which has been in operation since 1987. This lab is approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to run the numerous tests that we are required to analyze to insure that we meet all the regulated permit requirements for the wastewater plant discharge. The laboratory cabinets which are a major part of the lab have met their useful life span due to the working environment of a wastewater plant and the conditions that they are exposed to. Since the time the lab was put into operation, there have not been any improvements to it so it has become necessary to replace the cabinets, sinks and counters to bring the lab back into standards that meet state and federal requirements. Staff recommends approval. §§kk § a... 0MLu )} ) r) X22 J\ §$i <■ )§l /k ro§@ ° ■ta~ 771k§ M nor \ \ E = LL In § CO§ .32 . ■( §2 ma2 «zoJeR LU § k / § a ■ §§Z o :1 LL, 2k & §000n U, z§$zw g cz§k5 ]2 R oLU 3xAB§ §1ZL \§ 32jvS = <W z <Z \( § «u «\ $()k §E zoo ■ =® \ 0 ®220§ LU e,z @0 §( "§§k kL 2) $§ §O 11 01 Lq gmzw )k §§$ 2 < wx m § §k =m S Iozm (k?G+ o NCO °'00 2)m)k §k2 \) /LOU w«°wr W, z sew© §z §J§ Ew §CL j Sea R <0 m§q§ kk■4 2 7§E§$ ¢ B mcpl$ ■ za. r R 12 § V/ 3 c ■ ] §§kk § a... 0MLu )} ) r) X22 J\ §$i <■ )§l /k ro§@ ° ■ta~ 771k§ M nor \ \ E = LL In § CO§ .32 . ■( §2 ma2 «zoJeR LU § k / § a ■ §§Z o :1 LL, 2k & §000n U, z§$zw g cz§k5 ]2 R oLU 3xAB§ §1ZL \§ 32jvS = <W z <Z \( § «u «\ $()k §E zoo ■ =® \ 0 ®220§ LU e,z @0 §( "§§k kL 2) $§ §O 11 01 Lq gmzw )k §§$ 2 < wx m § §k =m S Iozm (k?G+ o NCO °'00 2)m)k §k2 \) /LOU w«°wr W, z sew© §z §J§ Ew §CL j Sea R <0
