SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR A CONTRACT FOR POLICE PUBLIC SAFETY RADIO
SYSTEM
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for a contract for police public safety
radio system with the Department of Information Resources for the Police
Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the CCPD Fund for a total amount not to exceed
$19,289.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the police and fire public safety radio system. The
circuits in this contract are necessary to connect the public safety dispatch
center radio consoles to the public safety radio system. Additional circuits
connect the Grapevine radio tower to the Colleyville radio tower as well as
the Fort Worth Radio System to enable mutual aid radio resources. The
circuits are necessary to maintain continuous public safety radio
communications. The Department of Information Resources has agreed to
a three-year contract for this service.
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local
Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, § 252.022. General
Exemptions (a)(7)(A).
