FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 21, 2021
SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE TO REPLACE PLASTER AT THE
PLEASANT GLADE BABY POOL AS A RESULT OF WINTER STORM
DAMAGE
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase to replace plaster at the
Pleasant Glade baby pool as a result of the winter storm damage from
Sunbelt Pools for the Parks and Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund Non -Departmental budget for a
total amount not to exceed $65,877.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is to replace the baby pool plaster at Pleasant Glade Pool.
A small portion of the plaster was replaced after the winter storm so the
facility could be opened for the summer of 2021. Now that the summer
season is over the rest is in severe need of replacement. This project is
part of the insurance claim from the winter storm.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative
(BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271
and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Sunbelt Pools. The Parks and Recreation and Purchasing staff reviewed
the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing
for meeting the needs of the City.
