HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 20 - Lighting Control PanelsMEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 2, 2021 SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT LIGHTING CONTROL PANELS AT THE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of replacement lighting control panel switches and sensors at the Public Safety Building from Facility Solutions Group for the Public Works Department. FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Replacement Fund for a total amount not to exceed $119,610. BACKGROUND: This purchase will provide new updated lighting control panel, switches and sensors in the first, second, and third floors and parking lot lights at the Public Safety Building (PSB). The lighting control panel that is currently in the PSB has stopped functioning and parts are no longer available for repairs. This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Facility Solutions Group. The Facilities and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the City.
