BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The construction of the Public Safety Facility provides a much needed complex to serve
the Police Department, the Fire Department Administrative staff, the Emergency
Operations Center (EOC), the Information Technology Division and Municipal Court.
City Council approved the first phase of the CMAR contract for Preconstruction Services
with Manhattan on November 19, 2013 in an amount of $30,876.00. The second phase of
the CMAR contract establishes the price for Manhattan to construct the project, which is
the amount recommended this evening of $33,831,549. This amount includes the funds
and the appropriate contingency necessary to construct the project as previously reviewed
with the City Council.
The staffs of the Architect (Brinkley Sargent Wigington), the CMAR (Manhattan) and the
City have worked diligently over the last several months to hone the project down and
refine the costs to remain within the project budget.
Staff recommends approval.
