CALL TO ORDER
CITIZEN COMMENTS
1. Any person who is not scheduled on the agenda may address the Animal Shelter Advisory
Committee under Citizen Comments or on any other agenda item by completing a Citizen
Appearance Request form with the Committee Secretary. A member of the public may
address the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee regarding an item on the agenda either
before or during the Board's consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the
Chairperson or upon the consent of the Committee. In accordance with the Texas Open
Meetings Act, the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee is restricted in discussing or taking
action during Citizen Comments.

ITEM 3. GENERAL OPERATIONS UPDATE
The committee was given an update on operations. No action was taken.
Construction outstanding items: cat kennels still going back and forth to manufacturer to get changes.
Larry Hallmark is retired and no longer on the Advisory Committee.
Working through needs to equip vet space and have a contract veterinarian.
PetSmart adoptions continue to be about 50-60% of adoptions—prior to new shelter they were close to 85-90% of
adoptions.
ITEM 4.VOLUNTEER PROGRAM UPDATES
Volunteer program has 25 active volunteers at this time providing assistance at the service desk,helping with dogs and
cats, and conducting adoption visits.
No action taken by the committee.
ITEM 5,UPCOMING EVENTS
Vaccine clinics:3/12,4/30(free rabies and located at Community Outreach Center),6/11,9/10, 12/10
Clear the Shelters: Summer 2022
Microchip event: April 2022
No action taken by the committee.

There being no further business to come before the Committee, Joy Mayo offered a motion to adjourn the meeting at
2:31 p.m.and Sherri Olsen seconded. Motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Mayo, Olsen, Price, Steinle,Valentine
Nays: None
Absent: Snyder
