SUBJECT: ROADWAY NAME — GREAT WOLF DRIVE
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council consider adopting an Ordinance amending Chapter 20-7, relative to Street
Name Changes, as follows:
"South leg of the intersection of State Highway 26 and Gaylord Trail extending
from the intersection south to its south terminus is hereby designated and shall
hereafter be known as Great Wolf Drive."
and take any necessary action.
BACKGROUND:
Great Wolf Lodge continues its progress toward a November 2007 opening. The
principal access to the hotel site will be through a new public roadway that will extend
south from the intersection of Gaylord Trail and State Highway 26 into the Great Wolf
complex.
Great Wolf has requested that this new leg to the existing intersection be named Great
Wolf Drive to enhance the hotel's visibility in the Grapevine area.
Staff recommends approval.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING THE GRAPEVINE CODE
OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 20, SECTION 20-7 RELATIVE
TO STREET NAME CHANGES; PROVIDING FOR THE NAME
CHANGE OF A CERTAIN STREET; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Great Wolf Lodge development will attract a large number of
consumers to Grapevine; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to make the Great Wolf Lodge development more readily
identifiable from the State Highway 26 and BS 114 L corridors; and
WHEREAS, it now appears appropriate to name the new south leg of the
intersection of State Highway 26 and Gaylord Trail as "Great Wolf Drive."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are
incorporated into the body of this ordinance as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That Chapter 20, Section 20-7 Street Name Changes of the Grapevine
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the addition of the following street name
changes:
"Great Wolf Drive
South Leg of the intersection of State Highway 26 and Gaylord Trail extending from
the intersection south to its south terminus is hereby designated and shall hereafter
be known as Great Wolf Drive."
Section 3. All provisions of Section 20-7 not specifically amended herein shall
remain in full force and effect and shall not be amended by the adoption of this ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word in
this ordinance, or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares
it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance in spite of such invalidity,
which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of
Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace
and general welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that this ordinance
become effective from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 19th day of June, 2007.
