SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE AWARD OF AN INFORMAL REQUEST FOR
QUOTE FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL POLES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the award of an informal request for
quote for traffic signal poles from Redwine Wallace & Associates for the
Public Works Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Capital Projects Streets Fund for a total amount
not to exceed $42,690.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for street light poles on South Main Street between Vine
Street and State Highway 114. Last year staff updated the poles with
outlets for Christmas lights on South Main Street between Dallas Road
and Vine Street.
This purchase will allow staff to complete the process. The installation of
the lights will be performed by City staff. When completed, we will have
Oncor remove their existing street lights in the corridor.
Quotes were taken in accordance with City Purchasing Policy. Formal bids
and advertisements are not required for purchases under $50,000. Three
vendors submitted quotations. Redwine Wallace & Associates submitted
the lowest responsive and responsible quote meeting specifications.
